I got my first dachshund when he needed a home. At the time I knew very little about miniature dachshunds and before meeting Charlie I wasn't even aware that they came in miniature size or that they could have long hair.All I knew at the time was that he needed a home.
He quickly sold me on the breed and what was originally going to be one more so that he could have a playmate became 5 more.
First came Belle. I know she was sent to me by God. I wasn't even going to go look at her because at the time I wasn't too fond of dapples and I felt she was more money than I wanted to spend. The breeder does not advertise and we accidentally over heard someone talking about this breeder so I gave her a call. And like I said I wasn't even going to go look. And all the way there I was telling myself I was not going to get this puppy. But she had other ideas. The moment I walked in the room and she turned to look at me I knew she was going to forever be a part of my heart. She out ran all the other pups and ran straight to me to be picked up. That is something she still does. She would probably be happy if she could be glued to my arm. |
