She thought that everything was cool until the man showed her the true side of him. He was a mean man who loved to beat women for a sport. Why would a girl like her ever fall in love with a man like him? Is she so blinded by her love for him, that she doesn't see what is really going on? I try to tell her to leave him and file charges against his stupid ((beep)), but like I said she's blind. All sheis seeing is a man who loves her and occasionally gets upset with her. "It's okay", she says as she puts a frozen cold cut on her swollen blue and purple eye. I keep telling her "one day he'll kill you", but she doesn't believe me.

After awhile, I just stopped telling her what was the inevitable. I figured one day she'd open her eyes, assumong at that moment they aren't swollen shut. Plus he told me to butt out. Next thing I knew, he moved her and their baby across the country. I guess she wasn't allowed to contact me at all. Years past by and then out of the blue I get a call from her crying. She finally realized what type of person her man actually was. She asked me to meet her and the baby at the Miami airport. When I arrived, she was no where to be seen. I asked the desk clerk if she has seen my friend. They reply of the clerk was no shock to me. She told me some angry looking man came to pick her up about 30 minutes ago.

It took me what seemed like hours to find their apartment. As I pulled up, I saw cops and ambulances outside the building. Thoughts of "he finally killed her" kept going through my mind. I went running up to their apartment door as they brought out the stretcher. In it laid the body of her husband with an entrance wound to the front of his head and an exit wound to the back...he was dead and she was the one who pulled the trigger. Next thing I know, I see her in the back of a police car with absolutely not look of guilt or any signs of remorse. She was proud of what she had done because she finally fought back and broke free. Later that year, she got sentenced 15 to life. All of that for finally defending herself from a man who beat her for mere pleasure.
