In Loving Memory ...

Setr Ridge's Country Gent TT.

January 1988 - March 1998

"Gent"

Gent was our first registered dog. He was the one that taught us the meaning of Houdini. He never found a yard that could hold him if he didn't want to be held. To him the grass was always greener over there wherever "there" was.

Gent liked to hunt. He hunted everything from flies (to my annoyance) to pheasants (to Chico's joy being a hunter himself) with skill that always took my breath away to watch. Gent was never formally taught and would not have won any ribbons for his style of hunting, but Chico and him were a great team, that is, once Gent taught Chico THAT his way was the way it was done. Gent also taught me that you can't feed a dog water in any way if he doesn't want you to.

Gent was not always a healthy dog. He had a lot of allergies, mostly enviromental. Eventually, the time came to say goodbye and to let him know that there were no fences to keep him in. Finally he could fly free with that Eagle he chased so many years ago.
