Rhymageddon is the voice shaking up the Hip-Hop world. Blame it on the incisive way his lyrics exploit the weakness of most rappers only to penetrate the minds of true Hip-Hop fans everywhere. "I'm here to just spread the raw truth.” I’m tired of 'rappers' who only rhyme about the materialistic world and forget that Hip-Hop music is a form of expression that should be taken advantage of and leave a strong mark on not only the music industry today but also for years to come." But when exactly is Rip a m#therf#ck@h night? It’s every night for Rhymageddon, an East Orange, NJ native constantly repping Essex County the Land of Stolen car chases. The lack of word play and lyricism are two factors that brought about the birth of the Spit Sergeant a.k.a. Rhymageddon. Just one listen of Rhymageddon’s music speaks volumes of his tireless dedication to pure lyricism. He began writing rhymes while in junior high school but found it difficult to develop given that his Nigerian born father denounced Rap music in the household. He was forced to secretly record pioneering Hip Hop radio D.J.’s such as Red Alert and Mr. Magic while his parents slept forcing him to observe and respect the art form from afar until he went onto college. It was while at Morgan State University that Rhymageddon finally gained the time and freedom to hone his talents and merciless vocabulary at open mic sessions, street corner ciphers, talents shows and college radio stations. In 1994, he recorded his first demo and subsequently returned to his birthplace of New Jersey to sharpen his sword even further.
Since his return to New Jerusalem, Rhymageddon has uncompromisingly spit raw lyricism with the purpose of stimulating both hemispheres of the listener’s brain. On a recent collaboration with his KWC brethren Blackout, Rhymageddon warned competition to cop g-packs of Excedrin when in his cipher. The name speaks for itself, the end of all rhymes: RHYMAGEDDON If you want a fighting chance, show up to the battle in an ambulance.
