Battle of the Artists |
This is one of the interviews or stories that I had planned on putting in my miscarried zine--Damn it I'm going to put the info to good use!!! Any if you would like to fill out this same survey for me to post here--I would be happy to have it---Just email me yur responses to the questions--- |
Names--Me----Chickenhead----Heidi--- |
--What is yur talent?- Me- Writer( a majority of the time) I dabble in alot of different mediums-- Chickenhead-Creative explorations in noise- Heidi-Good question |
-Who was or is the biggest influance for you?- Heidi-Life in general,recently-Paul K. Stolen Me- Childerns book(wen I was young)-Sir Aurthur Conan Doyel--My Sophmore English Teacher Mrs. Gersak- Mr Sidor(Art Teacher)--& the few friends I have-- CH-Radiohead-Coil- Chopin |
-Wen did you decide to persue yur talent?- CH-In 1992, but in 1994 I fell for a succubus, who in turn, killed my soul. Then in 1997 I was born again. I found she had not completely sucked me dry.My empty shell began to fill once more and so once again,I found god(music) Heidi-I am not aware I ever had a choice- Me-Some timein Jr. High-- |
-What has been the general reaction to yur decision?- Me-it ws good but most of my friend are in some artistic persuit--beyond my friends like other ppl--Some are encouraging -the other don't talk about it unless mocking me-while hopeing I'll come to my senses and get a real job(heh)-Strangers I ignore unless they are being genuine- CH-"I know you really like music, but you should plan for failure-Make back-up career your top priority- Preferably one that can bring you gangs of cash. Then, if by chance, you get somewhere in music you can be happy in yur decision. If not, yo'll learn to live with the sick hatred of everything in your life. The regret will hurt a little less, and you'll have more money than you need." Heidi- that I'm unmotivated& a slacker/freeloader |
-Do you like money?- Heidi- Depends, are you offering? Me- I like to eat food-- and I like a warm place to sleep--So yeah--I'm not obessessed with tho-- CH- refer to question four-- |
How often do ppl suggest tha you give up and find something else better to do?-- CH-About everytime I bring up the " touchy subject" up to the ppl from the world of question four- Heidi-Generally, every other day or so- Me-There aren't enough fingers and toes in the world to count that-- |
-How did this make you feel-what ws yur reaction-?- Me-I used to get angery- Now I just smile--Wen some one tells me I can't do something it just makes me try harder- CH- Dead. I lost all respect for the person. i felt sorry for them. For their lack of ability to understand the true meaning of life. For their own self -inflicted torture. For their inabilty yo understand why they where miserable. For their subconcious slavery to money.....I feel sick-- Heidi-*shrug* |
what was the most offensive suggestion?--(job wise) Heidi-I don't have one yet, I'll keep you posted. Me-That I become a socail worker--( i should not working with the public, the living one anyhow)--Someone once suggested that I start writting romance novels just to get famous-that ws pretty offensive- CH-To be a construction worker, because it's secure. " you'll hate it, and you won't make much money any, but it is secure" OR " You sell out,& after you make tons of cash, then and only then, can you do what you want. Not that anyone will take you seriously then, but that dosen't really matter." |
-Have you ever had any doubts about following yur talent? CH-Of course . It hard not to when absolutly every "valuable" member of society tells you you're wrong. But, I know I will never be happy giving up my soul. No, really, I'm serious. I KNOW FROM EXPERIANCE!!!-Just refer to question 3. Heidi-yes, daily Me-Yeah-every once & again but i usually come to my senses one way or another-- |
-Who pisses you off in yur artistic field?--- Heidi-Pretentious artists collectively- CH-I would have to say any ne who is in it for a reason other than the music it'self. It dosen't matter to me if it's girls, money or glory(fame). If they don't want just the music then they shouldn't be there. and I know what yur saying "if you feel that way strongly about it and you don't reject fame and meny then yur a sell out" Not true In fact it's totally wrong. A storyteller who told stories to an empty room would be considered insane. If one dose art for the love of art the love of art& becomes sucessful, more power to them. Me- A whole gaggle of people-namely book factories-people who do it just for the money but can't write worth crap--Writing teachers-who say they want you to be orginal but then beat you downwen you do become a little clone of themselves-Peers for some reason will go off on how yur misreible yur writting career is going to be just because they've had a few rejection notices-- |
- Are you happy? Me- Most of the time- Heidi-Today? Ch-Sometimes, Yes. |
-Dose yur enviroment encorage the persuit of yur talent?- CH- Not really. Yet certian aspects of it inspire me. Some of those aspects are ppl. Some of those ppl encourage me. But, Sadly, not many.Tis but two atoms of hydrogen and one of oxygen in the Pacific Ocean Heidi-No!No!No! Me-Concentric Circles. The closer ppl and general public get to me it's very encourageing-the further you get the less encourageing things and ppl will and can be-- it's got it's exceptions but that's mostly the case-This twon dosen't realyy encourage my king of art but hey it's Montana-- |
