1991 The Crouzet issue of Espigueiro ( without optical points )
In the 15 th November 1991 a new ATM machine was introduced . It was a french Crouzet machine ( also called Ascom , LISA or Monétel ) that issued ATMīs with a motive of the Espiguero ( a small house used to store agricultor products ) designed by Victor Santos . In the beginning four Crouzet machines where instaled in Portugal in the cities of Lisboa , Porto , Coimbra , and Faro . Some time after more machines were instaled around the country .
The ATM standart values were : 35 ; 70 and 140 PTE . In the first day of issue of this ATMīs , a F.D.C. was prepared as well as a souvenir . Regarding to receipts , these could be obtain from 21 st February 1994 and they where printed in the same recharche paper .This first issue of the Espigueiro ATM was issued without optical points but in 1992 a new Espigueiro ATM was issued with optical points .

These ATMīs were again used in the Crouzet machines in February of 1995 due to the finish of the Ciclista ATM issue paper ( that was in use in the machines until the finish of that recharge paper ) and before the issue of Galinhas ATM . This emergency period of use took to the appearce of another set with the standart values of 40 ; 75 ; 170 PTE and the values of a new Post service called Correio Azul that consists in a priority delivery of mail for national and international destinations . The values for this new service where 75 and 350 PTEīS for national and international priority mail ( respectively ) . The ATMīs for this new service had the value of 75 or 350 PTEīs ( according to the destiny ) and the printing Correio Azul . This new service of the Post was extended to the other ATMīs issues .

Like in the other ATM issues it was possible to obtain some errors and varieties like double printings , missing numbers , TEST IMPRIMANTE printing ( the printing test in these machines ) and many others like rare statistic ATMīs ( with printing Taxas em Serviįo ) and others mentioning the coin storage of the machine . Another variety was the printing in violet color instead of the normal black color printing .

These Crouzet machines are also used ( at least until the 2000 year ) with great sucess in France , Luxembourg and Australia .
