Terry David is the Director of EMS for Rice County and also the Emergency Management Director. Terry previously worked for the Wichita Police Department before moving to Hutchinson where he worked from 1979 - 1986 on the police force. Terry became familiar with EMS while working for the police department. He started working part-time for Reno Co. EMS out of Hutchinson. Terry took the EMT course in 1986 and became a paramedic in 1987. Before becoming a paramedic he was employed full-time for Reno Co. EMS. In March of 1995 he came to Rice Co EMS and became the Director. In 1999 he became the Emergency Management Director. Terry has been affiate faculity of American Heart. He is an BLS & ACLS instructor, and a Medic First Aid instructor. He has been Chairman President of Region III, past president of Kansas EMS administrators. He has been on the Board of Directors of KEMSA. Terry is a Training Officer II. Terry has accomplished many tasks since his arrival at Rice Co. EMS. He has taken our budget from 90,000 to 350,000 with only a small increase to people. Two new positions have been created. New equipment, a new building, and Advanced Life Support care has been given to the people of Rice County. The care given to our patients has increased at great benefits for the patient. Our staff have become better due to better training and better equipment. |
