Family: Water-lily (Nymphaeaceae)

Note the oval (2-4 inches), floating, water-lily like eaves on long, slimy, submerged stems. The small (3/4 inch) dull purple flowers have 3 (or 4) petals.

Found: Ponds and sluggish streams.

Blooms: June-September
