When I created this piece, it was all about mood. Those moments when you stop and think, "Life is good" or "All's well with the world." Not enough of us really appreciate how lucky we are compared to the "less fortunate" (and that term comprises so many things). I want to remind the viewer of that sense of comfort and safety that too many of us take for granted.
Of course, after the recent horrific events in the United States, the title "Safe and Warm" takes on a new and much deeper meaning.
