In their film making debut, Richard and his brother Jonathan wrote and directed this small independent film. A dramatic short film focusing on the effects of alcoholism. Madison 2000

Based on a true story set in 1971 when Madison Indiana was host to the hydoplane racing gold cup championship. Richard's Character:  Buddy, an upcoming junior driver that the town wants to drive in the race Madison, has been chosen to premiere  in the 2001 Sundance Fim Festival. TRUE RIGHTS 1999

Richard stars as the lead in this independent film written and directed by Meg Thayer. A Hollywood Satire on Hollywood producers trying to get the rights of people's real life stories. Richard's Character:  Reynolds Portman, a film student, who documents the producers on their quest for True Rights. Also starring Jonathan Jackson, Jack Betts, Tom Herd, and Claudia Christian
