Korel - Pictures, Etc.
Welcome to my gallery of Korel related pictures.  It is hard to not get attached to a character that you have been playing for over a year.  Korel was created at first level with an interesting idea: what would happen to an insecure man who was grew nearly god-like powers?  How currupt would he become?  The answer is witten here in the pages detailing Korels achievements and catastrophies.

As you are about to see, I have really gotten into this character.  On the left is a pencil drawing of Korel when we first started gaming.  He was quiet, kind and loved his pet cat Naribal who later became his familiar.  I am not any kind of a great artist, but I like to doodle.
Pencil drawing of Korel and his familiar Narabal.
In this drawing, he was still SANE.
After getting tired of the same old character sheets available on the internet, I decided to make one custom to Korel and something that was different than the other guys at the gaming table.  My solution: a leather covered book made of natrual pressed fiber pages.  The effect is awesome.  No perfectly square corners on bleached white paper.  Instead it feels and smells like something that a person from midieval times would carry.
Upon opening the clasp, you can see that the leather cover wraps around the book for protection.  Inside is the actual book where I have inscribed a symbol made of Norse Runes.  The symbol is representitive of what a fortune teller would predict if visited by Korel.
On the right is a close-up of the book's cover.  The picture above is something that I made in photoshop.

The rune on the top is called
Kenaz.  It represents destruction, death.

The rune on the lower left is called
Hagalaz.  It represents the darker side of magic; hell or evil.

The rune on the lower right is called
Thurisaz.  It represents Chaos.  Raw and powerful.

The rune centered, and larger than the others is called
Inguz.  It represents magic, or a coming into of magical power.  It shows how Korel's focus will be the massing of his powers.  Learning as much as he can and starting the cycle over again.
Below is a shot of the first page inside the book.  You can tell from this picture what the color and texture of the paper looks like on the inside of the book.  It is brown, course, and has hay embedded in it.  Not wanting to do any kind of precise writing on paper of that texture, I took the standard WoTC character sheet and simply shrunk it and glued it to the pages.  The effect speaks for itself.
At some point, I hope to hire a professional artist to draw a picture of what Korel would look like now.  The picture at the top of this page shows him when he was kind and caring... and also powerless.  Now that he truly feels like one of the most powerful people alive, his thinking and actions are corrupted by his power.  I have tried to draw these emotions on paper and haven't had any success.

If I get any more pictures, I will make sure to post them on this page.
