Apology

Written in the autumn of 2002 and only played live for several months during that winter.
A full studio recording was recorded with Jay Bennet in the spring of 2003 and released on
the "Demos Before Love Songs" Tour CD in 2005.
A solo demo was recorded at same time but not released.
Once I tired of my desire and my friends
I daydreamed happily about the perfect end
Now I'm the one who craves company
But no one wants an apology

For some the normal day is out of reach
And the world pulls on them like a leach
And they start to wear the sorrow that makes the mountains and the seas
But no one wants an apology

If you can hear and see no evil then that's good
It must really really put some velvet on your rope
Let me say just one thing and not be misunderstood
Shout out
Shut out
You don't give me any hope
You don't give me any hope

Give to the drunk disappointed soldier all that justice missed
Then drag his corpse up to the leader's room for the leader's drunken kiss
Some swarm like sharks and some shake like knees
No one wants an apology
No one wants an apology
No one wants an apology
