Come In

Written in the summer of 1998 & first performed live in November of that year at the GAMH in San Francisco. It was played live throughout 1999 and through to the summer of 2000 solo & with a band.
A demo version of the track recorded in January 1999 was released on the Eitzel Superhits International demos CD.
Strong cold hands that are always shaking
Through overcoats, sweaters and the sun
Your skin's as cold as the morning
you're abandoned

So come in
Said the mother to the rising tide
Come in
Give my little one a place to hide

It don't take much to please a 12 year old girl
Just tell her the truth and don't let her get too cold
And she won't grow up, it's just the world that gets tired
like some sadle whore with a story not sold

So come in
Said the solid gold dancer to the sun
Come in
Don't you know that any light's always  welcome
You're always welcome

A quiet voice is easy to shut down
A quiet voice is easy to run into the ground

So come in
Don't you know you've been outside for too long
Come in
You should know you're always welcome
Come in
You should know you don't have to be alone
Come in
Don't you know you're always welcome
You're always welcome
