Animal Kingdom/Epcot Day

I got up this morning and watched the turf management around the 7th hole.  The ducks are back looking for breakfast. I had to shush them, as I worried about waking up the rest of the building.  They quieted down after it became clear there would be no food until after we ate.

We met up at Animal Kingdom around 10 or so. We walked to te Tree of Life and saw the next Show of It's Tough to Be a Bug.  It's so funny to see the people scream and squirm through the show.  I think it's the best part now.  As we came out from the show, we stopped and saw the Birds of Prey show.  I sat this one out but, the kids thought it was pretty terrific.     Not too crowded yet so we went over to Kilimanjaro Safari to get a Fast Pass.  There was only a 10 minute wait, so we didn't need one at all.  Everyone else went in and Kristen and I walked over to Asia to get a Fast Pass for Kali River Rapids.

We took the train over to the Conservation Station to meet up with the gang there.  The kids brushed the goats for a while as we sat at a table and chatted.  Our Fast Pass time was nearing expiration, so we headed back on the train and over to Asia.  This would e our last ride, so we didn't care if we got wet.  Some of us got soaked and some didn't.  My back got a little wet, but that was all.  It was so funny waiting to see who would be the soaking riders.  Amanda, Deb's Mom and brother in law got pretty soaked.  Note:  Do not wear white cotton blouses on this ride!

We went over to Coronado Springs to have lunch at the Pepper Market.  The wet burritos are still great and very filling!  We let the girls stay and swim for a while in the quiet pool near Deb's sisters room.  It's so nicely landscaped there.  Just beautiful.  We went back to OKW and got ready for our evening out.

We all met at the front of Epcot and spent some time in Innoventions West.  The kids love that game show tag that they still play in there.  Dan and I did the tour of the "connected house of tomorrow"  Nice stuff in that place!  The toilet had automatic spray, deodorizer and blow dryer built in!  I liked the high definition TV with DVD player in the shower.

There was a 40 minute wait for Test track and we wanted to do some Food and Wine festival stuff, as well as see the Tapestry of Nations and get a good spot for Illuminations.  So much to do!!!  We did it all!  I have 3 glasses of different wines and a glass of champagne.  We tried Baklava, chocolate dipped strawberries and escargot in France.  We watched the parade and Illuminations from the lower section right on the water between France and Morocco.  Nice spot!  We met some people from Wisconsin there who had never been here before.  They were just blown away with the whole show.  It was fun talking to them about their first time here.

When we finally got back to our room, we were exhausted!  No Pleasure Island for us tonight.  We will "seize the night" at a later date!
