Looking at episode 10 of TGE, I realize how hopelessly screwed we are. I mean, seriously, how on earth am I going to transform five hundred (or is it a thousand now) pages of tightly-written script for who-knows-how-many pages of elegant prose. Episode 10 is of course in script, and will be released in script. I think there's a good chance that 11 will come out in prose, but from some perspective I can't see the point. The change might be a little too much, and be a little too sudden. A matter worth debating now, before the majority of the material is written. Sigh. Also, there is another quote. Visit the Goon page.

Post: 1/26/08 - 1$ Short and a Day Late
Put a quote on the TGE page. My co-author has admitted that we only have two gigantic action sequences to write in order to finish episode 10. Great. Grand. Fantastic. I'll believe it when I see it. Anyway, a quote! Enjoy it. OR ELSE.

Post: 1/20/08 - More Details on the TGE:Prose Project
As you may (or may not) have read in the last update (not that it technically qualified as one), TGE is getting a prose conversion. No-one panic, your loyal author is here with the details.

Item #1: We aren't throwing away the current story. In fact, we aren't throwing away anything. The remaining episodes of TGE will arrive in their normal fashion (horribly late) and in their normal format (script). The prose conversion will result in a slightly polished version of the story more suited for posting to fanfiction.net and evafics.org, both places we'd like to see this work, as it's hard to hate. Unless you hate self-insert stories, in which case, you probably already want us dead. Moving on.

Item #2: We aren't stopping production to finish the prose. This part makes me extremely happy. While episode 10 undergoes revision, episode 11 is currently being written by... me! Since Andy won't contribute (grumble grumble). I'm not bitter. Honest. Ignore the fingers crossed behind my back.

And in other news... Should have the next part of Revolutionary Girl Osaka done. Finally. Hopefully. Maybe. Dear God PLEASE let it be DONE! I can't keep getting distracted by crazy fanfic ideas! I NEED TO FINISH SOMETHING!!! I mean, I was just toying with a Naruto story here not long ago. A crossover with Lupin III, Inspector Gadget, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and some anime involving vampires and stuff. Silly, right? I mean, really silly. No, silly is not the right word. Disaster is more appropriate. I'm not making this up to amuse you, I was seriously wondering why I come up with a scene where a ninja is battling a squad of vampires and zombies, which also happen to be Nazis of all things. And he's only doing this as a distraction so the super-thief (Lupin) and the famous detective (Gadget) can thwart the plans of the evil cult with the giant robots (NERV), but they're bumbling through the job, so it's up to two teenaged girls (Penny and Sakura) to... I can't even go on. The whole thing has reached a level of ridiculous that cannot be described by the English langauge, period. I have breached a new level of weird here. I am sailing into uncharted territories, now apparently blindfolded.

The worst part is I haven't put it to bed for good. It's still out there in my queue, shortly after pointlessly violent assassin epic #7, like a shark circling blood. One day, when I am slow, weakened, it will pounce, and I will be writing an indescribably ridiculous fanfic.

I can't wait.

Italics borrowed from Penny-Arcade. Hopefully they won't miss 'em this week.

Post: 1/11/08 - This is not a blog... this is not a blog...
Okay, here's the news. Episode 10 of TGE has been drafted. For a while now. NaNoWriMo was a wash for me. Don't ask. More Chronicles of War has been done, but updates on the web have been temporarily pulled. As has the NaNo story. And... uh... well, I'd just better come out and say it now: TGE is be converted into script. No, we aren't throwing away the script bits. They'll still be here. In fact, episode 10 will be revised very soon, and posted as script. The prose stuff will go up at it's done, and be mirrored here and on ff.net. And evafics.org, should I ever get off my lazy butt and send them anything. Okay, done for now, have to get back to work, et cetera. Peace out.

Post: 6/18/07 - Break in the Monotony
It appears I've been neglecting the old web-space again. Why? Well, I had to draft the second book of Chronicles of War, dang it! And let's not forget aid in completing episode 10 of Three Goons in Eva. Yeah, and I'm still editing it. Now get to looking at the rest of the site, this epic work won't be polished enough for posting for at least a few more weeks!

Post: 1/21/07 - Survival of the Writest
Back with another update of sorts. Ten more ideas, which continues to be the dry subsistence we endure while that tender, sweet steak of real fiction is cooked to perfection. Mmm... steak. Well, until then.

Post: 1/14/07 - Two Weeks of Zero
Well, I'm alive and kicking, here with another group of fine ideas for you to feast on. Yeah, I do plan on actually writing something. Finishing stories here and there. But I can't do everything at once. As it is sometimes said, there is a time and place for everything. The Place: Here. The Time: Later. Until then...

Here's the news. On the 31st of October, slaving desperately over my keyboard, the final touches were put on episode 9 of Three Goons in Eva. My buds were here, guiding the delicate formation of the last revision. Then I went and wrote a novel for the NaNoWriMo project. Three Goons sat on my hard drive. I decided to take a short break for writing, and checked with my buds to make sure I was okay to do this 'vacation from writing thing.' Vacation over. I get back. Episode 9 was never posted. Ergo, you can blame this all on my friends. Honestly. You should have long ago enjoyed this scrumptuous, fan-demanded chapter I now lay before you. But hey, it's almost Christmas, which means I can beg off writing another chapter of Revolutionary Girl Osaka, and any chance to be lazy is fine by me. More writing next year, keep 'er in the holster, God bless, Shalom, and all that jazz.

- Jared out.

Okay, I'm so far behind that after skipping a week, I have to come back and post one fifth of a chapter! Granted, that's like fifty pages of material all by itself, but still, I can't help but be quite sad at the current state of affairs. Still, it's progress. Go check it out.

Post: 9/22/06 - Update on Time - No Content!
Yep. I'm posting ideas again. Don't worry, the pain should ease around the end of the month, when I thrust the revised and completed TGE episode 9 upon you! Bow! BOW before the might of Evangelion self-insert fan fiction!

That's what I'm going to do, anyway. I was supposed to throw something awesome up here yesterday. What happened? Lots of stuff, but let's blame John for things out of his control. In other news, I found that I do have the strength in my body necessary to bless this site with ten more ideas. I'm working on getting "new" material up here for ya all to enjoy, so if you'll just hang with me, we can get back to the usual--which is kinda what you're getting now, but with fragments of incomplete thoughts rather than fragments of great stories.

Until then, ciao.

Post: 9/8/06 - The Return, With a Wimper
So, here we are. Anything new to report? Lots. Before we get down to it, let me say... it's good to be back.

Okay, seriously. First thing is Chronicles of War. Expect new releases starting soon. Once they start, we go. Chapter a week, maybe more. Once that ball gets rolling, we have seventeen chapters, so if I step on it, we'll have the first novel finished by New Years! I can't wait to be done!

A mountain of stuff is coming for Three Goons in Eva. We're talking epic. So much I don't even know where to begin ranting. You like TGE? You're gonna love us in a few weeks. Months. Whenever we get this stuff done. Trust us, it's goooooood.

There's more stuff down the pipe, too. A revision of S:E, season 1 is being considered while the fine details of season 2 have been cast in concrete for a while. That's right, no "development lag" for the next season. I get to S:E, and chapters will start flying. None of this two-year-delay-between-chapters crap. You people will be ducking the new episodes as they land smoking hot on this page. Neon Genesis:Immortals? There's some things I can't leave unfinished. Brother? I'm there. I will finish that war. The Traveler... well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I mean, I've got a pretty big plate as it is, what with the FanFiction.net updates, the TGE projects, the novel, and, you know, STUFF.

Anyway, it's gonna be a huge month here, and huge year. You were patient all through the summer, you took your vacations, but the weather is cooling down and you're back. And we're ready to rock. And as a tasty morsel of temptation, let me present this week's "Return to Insanity Productions:" The First Hundred Ideas, numbers 30-39.

Tune in next week...

Post: 6/2/06 - Monumental Disappointment.
Episode 13 is done.

Ahead of time.

What can I say, I love you guys. Personally, I'm not too impressed with the content, while the proof that I have actually finished at least a part of something soothes my tortured soul to no end. And with this, in a rather abrupt manner, we are done with regular updates. I know, you liked reading my brief, incomprehensible digressives every Friday... or was it Saturday? Except for when I didn't post, which was often... anyway, getting back on track, we're done with regular posts. I plan to update the project car page (and actually link to it, as you probably have no idea what I'm typing about). I plan to revise a few things. I intend (but don't really plan) to revise my Fanfiction.net stuff, so there's something like updates. Okay, I'm getting around the point. Ready? You sure? Get back here! More Chronicles of War. Lots more. Rest of the damn story more. As in finished. As in, I'll probably change the title. As in, finally you find out what happens after the mall. Yeah, I know you're excited and can't wait. Neither can I. Hence no distractions. Hence... no updates.

See? It all makes sense!

Until the next big one...

SIDESTEP:EVANGELION, episode 12. Look! Space battles! Space battles can make anything cool. Except this. Thank goodness we've only got one more episode to go, right? Of course... episode 13 is not the end of S:E, merely the end of... the beginning! I think. Let me finish writing it and we'll see.

SIDESTEP:EVANGELION, episode 11. I'm done. See ya next week. Bye.

By nineteen minutes, of all damn things! I finally got around to revising episode ten of SIDESTEP:EVANGELION so that it actually fits in with the last three episodes. Now, you can enjoy it.

Hi all. Once again I'm under pressure. I thrive on this kind of pressure, so I'm happy to report that I've drafted the finale to season 1 of SIDESTEP:EVANGELION. The bad news? I'm still revising said draft, including chapters 10 and 11, which were pulled last week. So... no new fics this week. I do have ten more ideas for ya, so go read them! Next week, expect S:E to return, and more news. Rick out.

Well, that's it. Insanity Productions is now on indefinite hiatus. Will we return? Will there be any writing? Too many questions, and for now, no answers.

You'll notice I cleverly skipped my scheduled update by, err... cleverly posting ten more ideas! Hey, real life in intrudes, and besides, I'm wrapping up season 1 and shifting gears to work on Chronicles of War again, which means I'm doing a lot of brainstorming and outline. Between all of these lines and whirling clouds of brain, there's precious little time for pure writing. So, enjoy my day off!

Episode 11 of SE posted! Er... stuff happens! I'm a busy guy, so it's iffy that 12 will show up next Saturday. You may be in for a treat - my laziness! Anyway, the big space story arc will wrap up with the posting of episode 13. Then it's back to COW, and maybe some side projects. Until next time...

Post: 4/8/06 - You Think I'd Know Better
Episode 10 of SE posted! Read it! I'm sort of on schedule. Three more weeks of SE and I get back on the Chronicles of War saddle. I'll probably drop some more random ideas and pretend I have time to revise the web page. Well... if anyone wants to volunteer...

Well, I'm posting according to my schedule now, and I'm happy. Doubly happy, in fact, because I have a special treat for you guys. I've been hard at work on it for a while, but today I can finally present...man I wish a had a drum to roll here...the final episodes of Three Goons in Eva!
Phew, I'm tired just thinking about finishing these suckers. Anyway, you've earned it. Enjoy.

Post: 3/25/06 - Change This Pace
That's it!!! Updates on Saturdays from now on!
Chronicles of War is on hiatus for the next six weeks, in order to prepare matters for the second part, book, whatever you want to call it. We will resume directly, with chapter 26, on the 6th of May.
Yes, this year.
In the meantime, you get to enjoy more ideas (or was that suffer?), and five, (go ahead, count 'em and rejoice) FIVE chapters of SIDESTEP:EVANGELION. Today is chapter 9. Episode, whatever. Have fun with it and see you next week!

Post: 3/18/06 - Return of the Hack
Ambition! The next chapter is posted! Delusion! I'm re-ramping the page format again. Nothing startling this time, just some CSS to keep my eyes from bleeding during future updates. Expectation! Now I can take a minor vacation from writing you-know-what. I'm not abandoning anybody though, expect new episodes of SIDESTEP:EVANGELION while I get ready to finish off the first book of Chronicles of War. The end is nigh! ...But, in a good way!

Chapter 24, but you were expecting that yesterday, no? Well, I'm busy. Busy writing. Busy writing more stories, which means if you wait, you don't wait for long, and you don't wait in vain. That's it, back to writing!

Post: 3/03/06 - The Little Update that Could
Chapter 23. You know where to get it. I have lots to say, but need to spend what little time I have to spare on writing stories, no news posts. See you next week.

Post: 2/25/06 - NumPosts == 0
There was no post Friday. There is no post today. There will be no post tomorrow. I doubt there will be a post next week.

I'm not making excuses here. Recently a close friend died, and it's been a pretty rotten week. Some of you are no doubt snorting in derision, certain that I'm always putting my writing at the bottom of my priority list and off playing Killzone or something right now, but that simply isn't the case. We're talking missed work here. We're talking no writing, regardless of story, genre, or money. Nothing. Next week maybe. This week, just give your loved ones a hug and tell them they're important to you. Peace.

Post: 2/17/06 - Still Alive. Still Kickin'
Finally, that long-awaited Chapter 22! Chronicles of War will be coming to a close in just four short weeks, so enjoy the new material while you can!

Post: 2/18/06 - Another Day Late
I give you...Chapter 21! You know, I keep promising that this story is going somewhere, but I'll skip that idle threat this week. More chapters are on the way, and someday (soon) you will see this epic end. Maybe by then episode 10 of TGE will be finished.

That's a big maybe.

Instead of more Chronicles of War, I have instead, the ideas file! More info later, as it's late and I'm tired. More novel goodness next week.
Caio!

I had some mega-cool rants to throw in here, but writing real material proved more important. And there's something else in store. I can't tell ya about it yet, but rest assured, it'll be a nice surprise, following on the heels of the final chapter to Book I of Chronicles of War. I'll let that sink in for a moment.

Back? Okay, the finale takes place in Chapter 25. I'm understandably nervous about somehow bringing the necessary closure to this book. Closure to the story won't happen for several more full-length novels, but it's an epic. You won't be reading this one to your kids at bedtime anyway. Will you? Don't, please. That's just sick, especially considering what's in this week's chapter. Sigh. Only five more weeks before...ah, but telling you would ruin the surprise!

Yeah, I know. What surprise?

Due to resistance from various corners, this part of Chronicles of War is not as carefully revised as previous ones. I hope this won't become a regular occurrence, though it probably will. Still, in spite of firm resistance, I do plan to finish this novel, and write many more in the years to come.

With the new year comes new errors. Chapter 17 is really, truly, FINALLY up. So is chapter 18. Oh, and chapter 16 has been updated. Enjoy.

Post: 1/07/06 - First Update of the New Year.
And it's late. And last week's update was a mess. I'm not sure what went on, but you can blame the other authors. I'll take no responsibility! It was in the past, the past I tell you! It doesn't apply any more! Ahem. This doesn't exactly inspire confidence here at Insanity Productions, but we're used to tripping over the wire. Or dancing on it. Or...I'll stop. It involved wires, I can't really remember any more than that. In any case, Chapter 17 has been reviewed and posted, so not all is lost. To another week!

Chapter 15 of Chronicles of War is up. Am I on schedule? Cue derisive laughter. Spread some holiday cheer, I know I'm going to.

Post: 12/16/05 - Under the Wire
Chapter 14 POSTED! The applause can wait, busy on the next chapter. Caio!

Back on...well, I hesitate to use the word 'schedule' for obvious reasons, but we're back. Another chapter of Chronicles of War posted, which means you should go read it, whichs means now. I've got a killer headache (not sure from what), the temperature outside is just into the double digits, and I'm contemplating the revision of chapter 14 to for next week's post. The good news is the weekend is upon me. Wave your little flags of celebration and victory now. Next Friday, we'll do it again.
Peace and love, people. Peace and love.

P.S. I had better say this again...but until further notice, these weekly updates will contain ONLY Chronicles of War. The first phase of the story shoud come to a close around chapter 25, so you've but 12 weeks to go...

Post: 12/01/05 - Never on Time
Here we are again, LATE. I feel sorry for telling people one a week and doing two a month, I really do. Nonetheless, I'm going to pretend I'll hit next week and the week after on time. At some ill-defined point in the past, I had planned to finish the first book of Chronicles of War by year's end.
Well, THAT ain't happening.
Anyway, new chapter. Enjoy!

Post: 11/21/05 - Technical difficulties
MAN, what a delay! Sorry about the epic brain-fart there. Chapter 11 of Chronicles of War was supposed to be posted LAST week. As things stand, 12 isn't done yet. Or is it? I can never seem to remember this stuff...Anyway, enjoy the new stuff. I'll be back after Turkey Day. And give someone you love a hug, damn it! They'll appreciate it!

Post: 11/08/05 - The Price of Disbelief
Chapter 10 of Chronicles of War is done! And revised! And posted! And some of the chapters have been revised! (ch3: minor revision, ch4: major revision, ch6: minor revision). So, we're still here and alive. That means that I've only got four parts of various stuff to revise. Only 425 kilobytes to go...
No, that's not a typo.

Post: 10/28/05 - In Anno We Trust.
Two things. First off, episode 9 of Three Goons in Eva is undergoing some revision. For the original release, a great deal of material was cut at the request of the warlord. Cooler heads have firmly established that this was an action taken in haste and have set out to correct the error. Namely, I'm going to spend a few weeks moving over scenes and such to fill in some huge blank spots left in this episode. Trust me, if this isn't done, much of the next episode will be pointless if not incomprehensible.
Second, I have indeed wrapped up the next several chapters of Chronicles of War and they are getting marked up. Heavily. Very heavily. We're looking at epic revisions to get these suckers up to snuff. Until then...I dunno, rake your yard or something if it's fall in your part of the world. Otherwise, TGIF.

After a great deal of work in Chronicles of War, I find myself with nothing to post. In several more words, this means that I'm wrapping up four chapters of draft material that needs to simmer like a good sauce before the editing, revision, and posting. Give me a week or two and there'll be more COW goodness for everbody.

Post: 10/14/05 - My subject can bow on one knee...
Posted (FINALLY!) episode 9 of Three Goons in Eva, against my better judgement. As it has been in revision for months, I'm too wiped out to comment further. Enjoy, if you dare.

Post: 9/22/05 - Has it been that long?
Posted episode one of Revolutionary Girl Osaka, a charmingly bizarre fusion of Revolutionary Girl Utena and Azumanga Daioh. That's it. As usual, I claim more is to come soon, but the definition of 'more' and 'soon' are still up for debate.

Again, lack of a real update. Minor corrections around the site, though nothing anyone will really notice for a while. More coming. I promise. Soon.
No, really.

Post: 9/8/05 - The Errata to the Addendum
I humbly apologize for my lack of an update. I could probably drop an incomplete spamfic to say I posted something, but I want to try finishing a story now. At the moment, I'm waiting on some review info on Three Goons in Eva, putting together a fic for posting on the FFML, after which it will reside here, putting together some material for Ghost Walkers (in production), adding tons and tons of stuff (85K and rapidly growing) to Chronicles of War. I'm writing like five chapters of this bastard all at once. So, rather than one chapter a week, it will be five weeks before I drop five chapters. Kind of like that example thing with nine pregnant women...Okay, now that I've lost everybody, I escape!
Until next time...

Post: 8/24/05 - A veritable pit of snakes.
Episode of 8 of SIDESTEP:EVANGELION is UP! Okay, now the news. I've got a bunch of material thrown together but in need of revision. Soon there will be another episode to add to SIDESTEP:EVANGELION, and that's just to get us warmed up. My primary focus now is to see through revision to the outline structure of Chronicles of War. It's not a revision of the outline (yet), but a reorganization of the files that hold the outline information. Years of neglict have left these files in a desperate state, and I begin my careful trek of restoration, correction, and updating like a man entering...well, a pit of snakes. I'll be sure to wear my protective gear, mother.

Chapter 4 of Chronicles of War has been added, moving all chapters after that down one slot. You could all it chapter 3.5, but really it was always supposed to be four. What is lost is now home. Chapter 10 is all-new material. Big fight scene going on there. Also coming soon...the next episode of SIDESTEP:EVANGELION.

Post: 8/05/05 - Revisions off the port bow!
Both the web page and several stories are in the process of getting a much-needed face-lift right now. Hey, be thankful the web-page has been revised. The stories, unfortunately, will have to wait.

Chronicles of War has been updated. To my amazement (and considerable embarassment), the 'next' chapter has been done for a while and only now do I see it needs to be posted. Considering the other revising I'm doing to the story... ugh. The only good news (and there is good news) is that it's all good. Nothing that I cringed at last week, that means it HAS to be good, right?
Right?
RIGHT!
Peace.

Difficult times ahead. Due to family troubles, there may be reason to delay posting for a few weeks (namely, posting TGE, and namely, because a close family member just died of cancer). That having been said, as I am a fighter who can't resist a parting shot, I give you... episode 7 of SIDESTEP:EVANGELION.
Enjoy.

While preparing the next Episode of SIDESTEP:EVANGELION for consumption, Synopsises (synopsi?) of present episodes and the up-coming episode 7 have been posted. As soon as much of the Insanity Productions crew are done with their various vacations and duties, the long-awaited episode will be posted, followed shortly (we hope) by the next episode of Three Goons in Eva. Until then!

Happy Independence Day! Now, could we please impeach that trained monkey in the white house? Ahem. Back to IP-related matters, we have nothing new to post at the moment. Chronicles of War is headed for big-time revision. The next episode of SIDESTEP:EVANGELION was drafted a long time ago, and if I can blow the dust off of my thesaurus and revise it, I will update that story too. Episode 9 of Three Goons in Eva has been done for a few weeks, but so far hasn't even been near a spell-checker. That's it. Have a good blistering hot summer day (or blistering cold, if you're in the southern hemisphere), and check back here in a week or two.

Brother is up. I must say, it's full of more of the usual madness, but if it wasn't, I wouldn't call it Brother.

Post: 4/13/05 - Three Goons in Eva!
Believe it or not, we actually have MORE stuff to add. A vignette taking place between episodes 8 and the in-production episode 9! Check out the Three Goons in Eva page.
And here I just told you guys I wasn't going to make a habit of this!

Post: 2/07/05 - Three Goons in Eva!
Now we've got ourselves Episode 08 of Three Goons in Eva! Posted! Don't think we're making a habit of this, though...

Post: 1/28/05 - The Not So Grand Re-Opening
Things have been put into tasteful, effective order. FEAST upon the COMPLETE Episode 7 of Three Goons in Eva!
And in case you haven't noticed, the ole page has gone under a little construction. There's more to come, but for now, it's safe for human viewing.

Timely Notice.
Until further notice, all updates and otherwise to this weg page have ceased. Several things are on-going right now which have utterly sapped me of what little free time I normally have. In addition, I find myself strangely not in a mood to be creative at all. Until both the time crunch and mood disorder pass, everything here will be left to the wind.
Until I return...

I'm updating. I'm updating on my birthday.
Episode 7, part 'd' AND part 'e' of Three Goons in Eva is POSTED!

Two more down and we're suddenly halfway there! As an aside, it looks like this chapter (including notes and epilogue) will close at a little over 13,000 lines. That's BIG.

Well, I'm done scaring you for the day, let the writing go on!

Episode 7, part 'b' AND part 'c' of Three Goons in Eva is POSTED!

The master of the digital pen, the marquis of references, the tongue in the cheek... whatever the heck that means, Rick Spiff is to thank. Now, only to the remaining seven mini-parts. Please excuse the evil laughter.

Update! YOSH!!!
Episode 7, part 'a' of Three Goons in Eva is POSTED!

Yep, this means your Eistein of Editing, the Rancorous Rick Spiff has done it again! Actual new material!

Don't get too excited. There's like, 9 more parts to this episode I have to revise and post. Props to John for getting this monster done. Now, if I can just get some Chronicles of War help.

In other news, like goes on... as it tends to. We'll have some up here shortly. Enjoy our progress. :)

Update?
Episode 7 of Three Goons in Eva is FINISHED! IN DRAFT FORMAT! AND NOT NEARLY READY TO POST!

Excited? Neither am I. However, I do have a little something to show for my time. If you're a Honda guy or a car guy, you can probably sympathize with my Current situation. Long live the beast. With any luck, that little project can be wrapped up soon and I can get back to writing.

Speaking of writing, the usual suspects are all due for updates. I won't even list them here. I'm that deep in it. Just hang on, folks, you'll be rewarded.

You're always rewarded....

During the holidays, what with work, school, vacation, and family, updates here are going to be thin. Don't be surprised if IP takes a hiatus lasting until Feburary, okay? We do have a bit of a going-away present though...

It's posting time again, which is good because it's time to post! ...... Yeah. Anyway, up on the plate today is Brother. Expect some other... stuff coming up later in the week. On a side note, work on NGI, Episode 3 continues. I honestly don't know when this one will be ready for prime-time, but as always, you'll get it here first!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

And another update, meant to scare the piss right out of you. Kinda messy, but someone's gotta do it. We have much new stuff that will blow your mind. Namely, more Chronicles of War! It's more... of the usual, which is good. Sometimes I really hate writing that story, because it puts me in a really bad, cynical mood. You have to be evil, psychotic and cynical to write it. Here's hoping it reminds people how NOT to behave. So, little time for words that will never be coveted. I'm back to my job and more fiction. I'll keep the news brief, just the way you like it. Hell, I may move my 'daily rants' down a bit and just throw the "New stuff" thingy up at the top? Think it's cool, don't say anything. Site re-design is still a ways off.

In the "do we care about this page?" department, I've decided to redesign the site...... in the next update...... if I'm up to it. Just simple stuff, thank you, like splitting this sucker into small pages. Same style, toss in a navigation bar or two... Anyway, things are okay, if I'm a little busy, so what. I get paid.

So, yeah. I'm thinking similar color scheme and maybe some pictures. I still have a title banner for NGI (to my amazement) I could desparately work something up for COW or the other works here, but... I'm a writer not an artist.

The updates, right. Today, I have something small, something also posted on FanFiction.net, but loved and now a little closer to completion. It's Brother. And... uh... yeah, that's all. You can guess what goes on in this episode. DBZ fans rejoice!

A very special day indeed. For more than two months, I have toiled away at various stories. Yes, I am getting closer to releasing something of actual importance, but this update is actually a RE-release. Three Goons in Eva is getting some Special Edition and Platinum Special Edition releases! What does this mean? Well, follow the link, and you shall see....

Woo-hoo! "Chronicles of War", part 6, is up! The next part of SIDESTEP:EVANGELION is also nearly complete, pending another little burst of creativity. Other work is coming along more slowly, but I'm back in the groove now. Yes, no more WWII Online for yours truly, but that's a good thing, right? Anyway, enjoy (as usual), and don't fret about bugging the authors if you want to see something finished before the next ice-age. Nothing inspires like fans!

Quickie, 'cause I'm a rotten bastard. SIDESTEP:EVANGELION, part six, is currently in final production. A draft will be complete by weeks end, and a post will hopefully be made by Sunday. In other news, part seven of TGE is cracking the 200k barrier as I type and still has a ways to go. Cheers will help. I'm alive and fics are alive, now to run off and write. :)

If you've never been here before, look around and have a read. Oh, and skip the following update. For those of you who are returning (all 1.76 of you), yes I know it's been a month since the last update. What's the holdup? Well, I've got a new job with killer hours and damn near mandatory overtime. The 'fics are in need of an overhaul, and I've spent the last week mostly grinding out actual writing (GASP!) and modding my case. Yeah, I had to move the hardware when I made an upgrade and just kept tinkering with it. Any more tinkering and we won't need X-mas lights this year.... Uh, oh yeah, the updates. To put it bluntly, there aren't much to speak of. Some Chronicles of War is like, here, but my brain certainly is not. The sucker's been finished for nearly a month. I know, I know, I'm lazy. Okay, next we have Brother. Yeah, that's on the way. Neon Genesis:Immortals? yes, taking forever, but you expected that. Three Goons in Eva? Go bug John. What about Sidestep: Evangelion? Don't get your... uh, whatever in a wad, I'm writing it. So, more of the usual. Come hell of a Tri-Cities dust storm, I'll update. Soon.

Even if I don't write anything.

As recently promised, SIDESTEP:EVANGELION, episode 5 is finally finished and posted. Episode 7 of the beloved Three Goons in Eva is taking forever to complete. The latest word from Pullman is "I'll be done when I'm done." Don't expect too much, people. As for the rest of the stable... well, it's been one of those months (I started playing a MMO game, World War II Online, and I don't quite know where the time is going). Apart from a weak smile and pie crust promises, I can promise nothing. My soul says that Neon Genesis:Immortals is next on the block, but there's some lesser-known projects (read: unreleased works) I'd like to get back to before the next ice age sets in. Among them are some real gems. Yeah, I'd like to get those pieces out before long....
So, check out the new section, and prepare for a couple of rough months. I doubt I'll soon be spewing a ton of work everyday; it's all I can do to keep the bare minimum of interesting stuff on this page.

In case you are wondering, yes I am on crack.... Okay, not really, but it kind of figures I would be. I mean, I'm actually making progress! In other news, beware flying pigs.... Well, now that I'm done joking around, what's the news? The news is that Insanity Productions, Pullman branch, is hard at work on not yet anticipated episode 7 of Three Goons. Conventional wisdom says it's not far off, but he's at college and his unruly bastard teachers (good God I hope none of them read this) are trying diligently to drive the very life from his body. Jerks. That's MY job! So, no new Three Goons today. The stuff is Brother and Chronicles of War. Frankly I'm amazed I did anything good with Chronicles this month. I've been rallying for a comeback, so this is an unexpected surprise (especially since I had to tear apart my computer's software to make room for some games :)). Whew! Enough ranting for now, I leave you to the fics. And hey, if you like the stuff here, don't be a stranger! E-mail us! Make us feel worthwhile! Err... on second thought, that might cause our already dangerously inflated egos to sweel beyond our body's ability to contain them and cause us to explode... which would be kind of cool too--NOT!
What else... what else... oh yeah! SIDESTEP:EVANGELION (well worth the lengthy intro episodes, people, TRUST me) has a new part due soon. Yes, episode 5 is coming along nicely. No telling when she'll be done, but if this and last week were any valid indicators of my current pace, it will be soon. And, lastly, I have some other, inconsequential news. The chapters of Chronicles of War now get their own titles. Some chapters may not have titles, but hey, it adds a little spice to life! Peace out!

Wow. I mean, wow. Has it really been over a month since I last updated? I've finished nothing since then! Oh, the shame! Seriously though, I decided to give you all a belated new years present: Brother! It kicks some serious ass as far as DBZ-type fics go. I've got tons of stuff planned for this one, and I've started on part three, so it's a long, LONG ways from being finished. On a side-note, this is really just a gearing-up for the next post, which should come over the weekend. That's right, folks: I've got more SIDESTEP:EVANGELION and NGI ready for your viewing pleasure. It's good to finally get some things done, though damn exhausting. I forgot how much four hours of writing can take out of you. Good thing I have THE PROPER MOTIVATION! Yes, dear readers, I ran across an interesting CD that's been more or less inseparable from my CD player since I got it. You see, there's this anime (which I haven't seen), that hasn't been released here yet, and it's right up my alley. If the anime is half as good as the music, I'll be one smilin' mother ****er. Well, I've wasted enough pixels for one evening, expect more stuff to come on-line as Insanity Productions gears for up for Y2k2!

Hello, all. If you're looking for new material, click on a link far below; this is merely a sort of placeholder/yardstick of my progress. The front page has been revved to HTML V3.2 for maximum compatibility (except for that counter thing at the bottom and those banners that Geocities is putting everywhere). Progress report? NGI, Episode 2, is coming along slowly, but the results are solid. Chapter 3 of Chronicles of War is being penned out; about halfway done. John is hard at work on the next part of Three Goons in Eva, and I'm cranking up the heat on SIDESTEP:EVANGELION. A few other things, such as the opening parts to Brother are done but not yet posted... sigh. Well, it's time to get back to the good stuff: Writing!

Been watching a lot of Shojou Kakumei Utena (a.k.a. Revolutionary Girl Utena to the slackers) lately. A few ideas may or may not have sprung from it... we'll see what happens. On the Sidestep front, work remains on chapter 2. She's basically finished, but there's still a small debate as to whether some material could be added before I check it, stamp it, and post it. Chapter 6 of Three Goons in Eva has finally arrived, after a mountain of work by the nutty trio. Enjoy. Lastly, Neon Genesis:Immortals (missing space intentional) has finally shown some progress. The final draft of Episode 2 is complete and will be revised over the next few weeks. Soon... soon she shall be posted....

Uh-oh. What has he done this time? two updates in one day usually spells trouble on a fantastic scale... yet this is not the case. Witness a major site-change (okay, not that major), with the long (long, long, long, long, long...) awaited release of Chronicles of War!!! What does this mean? You ask. Well, for starters, I've been working on it for five years (look at the rev history at the bottom, except for the first and last, those are guesses). Second, it will give the much-demanded background to tales like Sidestep:Evangelion, and... come to think of it, pretty much every damn thing written by Insanity Productions has Sidestep stuff in it (at least James). One last important note: Chronicles of War is actually the story known as Sidestep. What can I say? I needed a change of title. In any case, all references to Sidestep apply broadly to anything on the subject, containing pieces of it (like Three Goons...). There's even a SEFU Project, which labels works that are derrived from Sidestep (sequels and such; Sidestep:Evangelion is a SEFU Project, the coming sequel to Eva Wasn't Built in a Day is a SEFU Project). Confused? E-mail me for questions.

To answer one final, burning question: The posted part is but a tiny, tiny fraction of the story (the text is an anemic 250kb at this point - barely 1/10th of the story complete), and the second chapter should be on its way soon. ;)

Looking back on my 'rant' from last week, I can see how I might have confused some people... aw, screw it. I wasn't in the best frame of mind (shock is the frame I'm thinking of), but I'm better now. After hearing about four airliners turned into 100+ ton guided missiles, I feel a little uncomfortable having a nuclear facility less than 100 miles away from my house... Yes, `shock' would fit just right.

So, what's new? Nothing just yet. NGI is creeping along at barely suitable speeds. 30+ page episodes with this kind of twisting prose are hard to write between long breaks. I need to get focused and stay on track or I'm going to loose this one. I've been revising and adding to part 2. It's looking better and stands about half complete, so that's good. On the downside, the entire outline doesn't hold together past episode 3, so I'm preparing for some serious review and outlining of this story soon. Stay tuned.

Episode 6 of Three Goons is also on the way, with lots of crazy s**t planned for episodes 7 and 8 (possible omake stuff has been discussed, but the way John's pushing things, I would settle in and get ready for 6, 7, and 8 to be nice long reads). A month ago, I ripped apart Reason We Fight and came up with the outline for an actual story, rather just a collection of scenes, which is what you will find posted below. However, the feel of the story didn't quite become what I was looking for, so the project went into hiatus. Then, an artist friend of mine came down and I showed him my newest obsession: drawing manga. Technically, I'm not drawing manga, since I'm in the US, but just bear with me for a minute. The story had action and all the emotion I was looking for in Reason We Fight, but it was... well, it just kicked ass. Then he shows me the Samurai Jack movie (thank you Cartoon Network and thank you Gene!). No, you don't need to guess what happened next. The end result is that my planned re-write of Reason We Fight will never happen, I'm drawing comic that's... you'll have to see it, trust me. And lastly, another story that's been sitting in the wing may be posted soon. A time-traveling sort of SF/mecha/love story epic.

Boy, that sounded strange. Well, to wherever you are, be well.

This is the last time I'm writing this.Several attempts to put digital words in order have failed miserably, and I'm just going to leave it at this: There is nothing to say. I don't have anything to say and I shouldn't have to say anything at all. Really, the truth is inside you, each and every one of you. What you feel, what you do, all you and your responsibility. No sharp jibes, to rants to piss of a whole bunch of people. I'm making the choice not to spread hatred, and I'm imploring that you don't either. If I can say one thing, it's trust your heart.

That's all I have to say.

Forgot to put the correct posting date on my last upload. D'OH! Well, I told you things weren't up to par. Okay, I do have to apologize this time, apartment from the following announcements/ updates, I don't have anything for you people. Okay, new business: I'm drawing comics. Okay, continue when you've recovered from the heart attack. I am not an artist by any stretch of even a vividly flawed imagination, but here I am, drawing... stuff. It's all worth a try, at least. The three things I'm tinkering with?

1. The Sidestep Stick-figure comic of rejected ideas. The backlog reminds me of the Hoover dam. Seriously. This is just for fun, and yes, it's in stick figures. I've been wanting to do it for a while, and at first, I was gonna CG the whole thing, but I've got a pencil and paper, and dammit, I can make chicken scratches too!

2. Neon Genesis:Immortals should be getting a poster around the middle of next month. I planned one out back when the story was first thought up (around July of 1999?), but kept putting it off to my absolute lack of artistic skill.

3. I'm teaching myself to draw anime-style characters. The hair. I hate the hair. It's as bad as the rest of the face combined. Why torture myself so? Well, I call it `training,' and it's in preparation for this little manga idea that's been scurrying around in the back of my mind for a while now. The other reason for studying this is the characters in various stories I'm writing can be hard to keep track of. (Especially when I remove the descriptions from the story's text for revision, sorry John.)

There it is. I'm drawing, writing, changing jobs and enjoying the 99-105 degree weather here in the good ole Tri-Shities. And do try to stop by again soon, I promise I'll finish Episode 2 of NGI soon, 'k?

Nothing new posted, but here's the list from the end of July:

New:
Posted: "Durankov Drafts" (revised... another revision may be due out soon...)
Posted: "SIDESTEP:EVANGELION" Episode 3 (the inside of NERV and some history of James and co.; will certainly be revised, but I've been on vacation)
Posted: "Three Goons in Eva" Episodes 00-05 (Been working on this for a while, actual new material for the 'page!)
Not Posted: "Eva Wasn't Built in A Day" Episode 2 Revised (been busy! I'll get back to this later, as it's not a high priority until I start cranking on its sequel)
Also Not Posted: "Neon Genesis:Immortals" Episode 2 (I'm working on it, about 40% complete)

Okay, now you can kill me. Life has been... no so good lately. Let's not go into details. Fics? A little thin this month, as I spent two weeks of it staring at the gorgeous Rocky Mountains. My soul had a craving to create prose, and an as-yet-unseen project titled Song of the Soul was moved along quite a bit. Thank the clean mountain air of western Montana and Wyoming. So what's new? I have a correction to Durankov Drafts coming (hopefully), and...... the third episode of SIDESTEP:EVANGELION! And about my promose last month? WE'RE GOLD, BABY!!! The Prologue through Episode 5 of Three Goons in Eva is posted below. Don't think this story is going to die unfinished and unedited. Editing is being done on the posted material this month and Yours Truly is shaping up for an awesome Episode 6 (which is dangerously close to cracking the 100k barrier, only one fourth of the way finished!), which will be posted.... whenever I feel like it.

So between all that work, a long vacation, and having to look for a new job before I am laid off from my old one, life has been stressful, but not unproductive. Let's here it for a positive attitude!

HAPPY FOURTH!!! You're all probably wondering what the censored is going on, right? The answer is... writing! NGI continues to extract a heavy toll from the head of Insanity Productions, while various side projects distract IP from coming out with our release of Three Goons. BUT... we do have some new material for your loving gazes. Hmm... maybe I shouldn't have typed that. Well, too late now!

This update will (sadly) bring no new fics to the fore, but for a change, that's okay, because Insanity Productions has been busy cooking up the GOOD stuff for all of our (three) fans.

First off, DRIVEN has been taken off of the queue; either I will revise Reason We Fight, or let it stand as-is. Eva Wasn't Built in A Day is being revised, though slowly. Neon Genesis:Immortals will be getting a fully revised episode 1, with episode 2 under production right now. SIDESTEP:EVANGELION, episode 3, is about 80% complete and temporarily halted until I have some time. Lastly, all of Insanity Productions is taking care of some backlogged work in preparation for releasing Three Goons.
