April 4th, 2005 - The Adventure continues
At the moment I am trying to get parts I need, in this case a rotor and caliper for the frontend. Meanwhile, I wanted to test fit the new rear rim - and I got the chance this weekend. Enjoy the pics. :-)
After taking off the orginal rear wheel, I put the two together to get a good look at the flanges. Both have the same size gear face, a good match!
I did a test fit of the brake assembly in the 750 Aero wheel - again a good fit. And an added bonus - both bikes use the same size brake pads! :-)
Here's the wheel mounted on the bike. Fits like a glove!
Everything sits well, everything connects just like the stock wheel.
A pic of the drive-shaft side -
the gear flange fits, there's no slop or space - the 750 wheel seems to have been made for the VT1100
A shot showing both sides -
a good fit - I'm happy!
Boy does she look good with wire wheels. Or at least she will!!
It just fires up the imagination.
Hopefully my new tire will come soon and be on the bike!! :-)
