The second set in the Verdict block has finally been named: it will be called Solstice. I (with some help) have finished design, and am moving on to development stage of Limited playtesting. The set will feature new mechanics and boosts on the Verdict mechanics. I intend to be finished with the set before Champions of Kamigawa is released. Let's see if I'm up to the task.
*** On a different matter, the white rare Rite of Passage has been renamed, due to Wizard's recently releasing a card with that name in Fifth Dawn. The new name is Rite of Endurance. |

The design process for the second set in the Verdict Block, codenamed "Drugs" (from "Sex, Drugs, and Rock'N'Roll", in case you are wondering), will be a little slower than I expected. That's because I'm also helping put together the MTGNews Forums collective set, codenamed "Qwerty". There are already several cards designed for "Drugs" so far, plus a big database of random ideas I have, that usually provides some cool cards and cycles to my sets. Also, there are already some themes defined, and a new keyworded mechanic, which works with counters. "Querty" is yet to begin its early stages, but I got a feeling that it will turn out great. Anyway, if Mark Rosewater can manage to design more than one set at once, I think I can handle it too. =)
