As I rounded the corner, the scene changed from jungle thicket to openness. This is a tidal swamp. Floating grasses cut by meandering open water dominated.. |

The picture, below left, is a prize to me. It represents the completion of a task. It is discovery. In this case it was where the river met the lake. Places like this have energy. Where the Green meets the Colorado in the gorges of Canyon Lands National Park is simular, if not as stirring. |
And, with my dollar, 2.98 telescopic lens, I captured the little lighthouse that was in the sign I told you to remember. Yes, I tried to find a road to it. But, the GPS was not programmed. I believe it is only accessible by boat. Might be wrong, 't happens. |
I would like to think this stucture, reached only by boat or boardwalk, is a restaurant, honkytonk. I've been to places, of which I surmised, over the water. I think they further remove us from our mundane lives and add to the enjoyment of being "away". Beyond the boardwalk, you can see the Causeway. At 24 miles long, it's the longest. If you travel it, it is long. If you travel it twice a day, it is twice as long. People will make sacrifices to live the way in which they want. |
