My Review

British Author, John Charles Keohane has accomplished the daunting feat of giving us the inside story on 200 published authors. Telling the success story of each person; and more importantly, HOW they accomplished their goal of being published by a traditional publishing house. All this without any cost to themselves!
An amazing compilation of success, of which I am most honored to be included.

My Review

Emotionally charged nostalgia that touches the heart.
With characters that come alive through their everyday prejudice, friendship, love and hate, "True Blue Forever" is a delightful read. The author does a professional job of bringing out the vanity and ego in the various characters making them completely believable.
Definitely not your average Romance novel, puppy love is not just for children. As the title implies, love can be a lasting and beautiful thing.

My Review

Waiting for Volume Two...

The altogether believable story of the survivors of a national catastrophe. The author has evidently done his homework in getting the correct facts and possibilities facing the group of survivors as they prepare to move south ahead of the devastating ice.
The abundant sexual content might be objectionable to some readers, (or titillating to others), but the strong story line comes through.
Altogether, a great piece of work, begging for Volume Two.

My Review

Being a man I was surprised to find myself sympathizing and even identifying with Susan as she struggles to understand her friends and family.
Reminiscent of 'Payton Place', her life really does resemble the afternoon soaps she loves to watch.
Puddles is a completely believable, smooth flowing account of ordinary, and not so ordinary, life.
It reminded me of Erma Bombeck's 'The Grass is Always Greener over the Septic Tank', but with more substance.
A wonderfully moving story with never a dull moment, where love and faith conquers all. And, Mrs. Barry has accomplished this without bludgeoning the reader with crude or distasteful language.
I highly recommend 'Puddles' to anyone who wants to be entertained and titillated.

Another Joyful Read

Lynn Barry had done it again!
"Bjoyfl", like her "Puddles" is a captivating story of life as it really is.
A good enjoyable read that will put you right smack dab in the middle of the action.

My Review

Being a man, I cannot directly relate to the underlying insidiousness of this disease.
What I can understand and appreciate is that it took great courage for Sheila McDonald to bare her innermost feelings on this subject of Postpartum Depression.
Sheila, I'm sure it will help countless others who share your pain, just to realize they are not alone. Thank you for sharing.
Our best wishes for your complete recovery.

My Review

Susan Weekley's recent book, "Hens Rule", is billed as a romantic mystery. The romance is realistic and believeable. The mystery draws the reader into a suspensful tale of intrigue and murder. The characters are easily identifiable and soon become as familiar as old friends.
An exciting story, well written and thoroughly enjoyable.

My Review

The underlying theme of honor and respect permeates this fast paced story of a most unusual happening.
Stephen Lodge has captured the essence of Texican pride and stubborn persistence as Cowboys chase Nazis across the hard desert mountains of southwest Texas. Using vintage WW1 planes, old trucks and cowboys on horseback, the action never slows.
The author's intimate knowledge of the Big Bend country, along with his realistic dialogue takes the reader on a most intriguing journey.
Based on a real story during WW2, the touching camaraderie between sworn enemies makes this an outstanding adventure.
Shadows of Eagles is destined to become one of the great stories of our time.

beyondthehorizons.jpg

My Review

"Beyond the Horizons" should not be opened until you are ready to dedicate some time.
The action begins on page one and only stops when the story is complete! Skillfully interwoven with the action the reader cannot help but feel the love and devotion between friends and lovers alike.
This author will hold you spellbound to the finish, leaving you physically and mentally exhausted.
If your reading time is limited, don't miss this outstanding work by a most talented author.

Burned

"Burned" by Jana Cone is a true crime story that will rock you to the very tip of your toes. It is obvious this story took many, many hours of detailed research. The author has a knack for presenting dry facts in such a way as to make the reader sit on the edge of his seat, turning pages, eager to discover more.
Each person in this fascinating story is introduced in such a way you feel like you know them; the good, the bad and the ugly; the weak and the strong. This is not a fun type, feel good story. It is a raw slice of real life.
I would not give this book a five star rating; it merits at least ten stars!
Jana Cone is a master of her craft. I Hope to read more from this fine author.

My Review

Complexity without Confusion

"The Dead of Winter" by Jay Squires reads like a runaway train. The suspense builds as each plot unfolds, only to be encased within another equally suspenseful plot. Sound confusing? Not at all, Mr. Squires has woven an intriguing novel, keeping the suspense level high throughout. A masterfully told story, quickly engaging the reader in a complex design that is easy to follow, Noah Winters is a man to be reckoned with, while being admired and respected by friends and foes alike. This is the type character we would love meet again in future novels.
We will certainly hear from Mr. Jay Squires again; his talent cannot be denied!

Unique Short Stories

This collection of unique short stories should be rationed. They need to be read with at least one day of separation between stories. Like a fine wine, they deserve to be savored and slowly digested. Superbly written, each story is an adventure into the minds and lives of these tortured, twisted, obsessed characters.

Like her first book, 'Dancing With The Devil', 'Houses of Blue' is definitely different. Reminiscent of O'Henry, Silvestri has a fresh new way with prose that is certain to impress the most discerning of readers. Jacqueline Silvestri could very well become a literary legend.
You won't want to miss reading this book, the second of many we hope to see in the future.

falseaccusations.jpg

My Review

Compelling and Believable

False Accusations depicts the depths of despair and frustration a model citizen can suffer as the result of an innocent everyday happening.
Mr. Jacobson tells a riveting story with believable characters and plot that make for a very compelling read. It also gives us a unique look into the workings of our criminal justice system and the peripheral leg work it takes to make it work, or not, as the case may be!
We will definitely be on the lookout for more work by Alan Jacobson.

My Review

Believable Military Action

In this fast paced action thriller Jess Parker gives us a personal birds-eye view of the action in Korea.
Evolving from ordinary fighting men, Detachment X-Ray is born to perform specific, necessary duties; jobs that cannot be accomplished with direct confrontation in combat.
This well written story is up close and personal; both gut wrenching and thought provoking.
I am looking forward to more adventures of Jake Green by this astute author.

My Review

The mayhem continues...

With the assignments in Korea completed, Detachment-Xray has been disbanded. Now, in Covert Avengers, Jake Green is once again conscripted by his government for more special assignments; wet work that he and his group are especially trained for.
Already experienced, Detachment-Xray will now take on the more covert operations in civilian and government settings. These are the jobs we like to hide in the back of our consciousness; dirty jobs that, at least in the minds of the planners, must be done to preserve our freedom.
Some readers will sleep easier after reading Covert Avengers. Others will not...

My Review

A young Woman's adventure...

An early American adventure, the story of Tessa O'Donnell begins in seventeenth century Ireland. Losing an abusive husband to a barroom brawl, our heroine braves the Atlantic to begin a new life in America.
The reader is kept in constant suspense as life winds it's way around the life of a young woman, alone in a strange land. Romantic, but not a romance novel, this story will be of interest to a wide range of readers, both men and women.
Margaret Hodapp is an accomplished story teller. Her other books include "Dearest of Friends" and "The Friendship Circle".
I'm sure we are going to hear much more about this accomplished author in the future.

My Review

A Different Approach...

This fictional story of the Second American Revolution is a refreshing departure from what I expected to find in this novel.
After detailing many of the corrupt dealings of some of our most prominent elected representatives, a proposal is made to correct the deficiencies; a proposal possibly acceptable to most of our citizens.
Revolution and Terrorism is an abhorrent thought for most of us. However, this fictional account of another kind of revolution opens up a new avenue for correction of the system.
Congratulations to Mr. Chenoweth; you have brought a new perspective to an age old problem.
If you love your country as I do, you will enjoy this high tech, yet simple plot.

hum-of-hushed-voices.jpg

My Review

A Skillfully woven who-done-it...
One would never guess that 'Hum of Hushed Voices' is Lisa Young's first novel.
With professional attention to detail this cunning crime story will surely keep the most avid arm chair detective in suspense. The characters are well defined, creating an intrigueing mix of physcotic but believeable suspects.
As the tale winds down, through many twists and turns, the ending is finally clear. Or is it?
The conclusion left this reader feeling as though I had been bludgeoned; but with a feather pillow!
Altogether, a powerful, well done tale that any reader of crime fiction will enjoy.
