The art of gymnastics on the back of a moving horse.

Vaulting.

Vaulting is the art of gymnastics on the back of a moving horse. It is an excellent way for yourg people to meet others, learn about horses, develop teamwork skills and is a great form of exercise. Vaulting is a superb way to develop a balanced and flexible seat for both western and English riding. Vaulting is noted to be one of the safest equine activities because the horse is in the control of a skilled horse person and the students are spotted by their instructor or another assistant.

Phase Two

It's off to the vaulting horse! Once the students have shown proper form and understanding of the moves on King David they are challenged to try them on Houdi. Houdi is our vautling horse. He is part draft and part Quarter Horse. He is a big giant teddy bear and he loves his vaulting kids. Students first try their vaulting moves while he is standing still, next when he is walking and as they progress in their learning, they move into a trot.
