The Holy Qurbana

THE PROTHESIS

The Sacrifice of Melchizadek

IN THE NAME of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, One God, to whom be glory and upon us, weak and sinful, be mercy and compassion in both worlds unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.

I WILL go into the altar of God, the God of my gladness and joy. Into Thine house, O God, have I entered and before Thy sanctuary have I worshipped. O Heavenly King, forgive me all wherein I have offended Thee.

IN REMEMBRANCE of our Lord and God and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Lamb of God is immolated for the life and salvation of the world. One of the soldiers pierced His side, and blood and water came forth to wash away the sins of the world. O Lord God, as Thy divinity is united with Thy humanity, so unite this water with this wine.

Stomen kalos!
Kyrie eleison!
O CHRIST, who didst accept the sacrifice of Melchizadek the priest, accept the prayers of Thy servants and forgive the sins of Thy flock.

The Sacrifice of Aaron

Stomen kalos! Let us all implore the Lord for grace and mercy!
Kyrie eleison!
WE OFFER this incense unto Thee as did Aaron the priest, who burned incense before Thee in the tabernacle and thus withheld the plague from Thy people, Israel. Thus do we commemorate Mary, the Holy Mother of God, the prophets and apostles, the righteous and just, the martyrs and confessors and all the Orthodox fathers and mothers of the Faith, the orphans and widows, the distressed and afflicted, the sick and oppressed and all who have asked for our prayers unto Thee, O Lord, and to Thy Father and Thy Living Holy Spirit in both worlds unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.

O, THOU Absolver and Purifier and Giver of pardon, Who wipest away misdeeds and rememberest them not, blot out by Thy great and tender mercies my sins and the sins of Thy faithful people. O good and gracious Lord, have mercy on us and in Thy mercy remember us and the souls of Thy faithful departed, the children of Thy holy Church. O Lord, grant rest to their souls and sprinkle the dew of Thy grace and mercy on their bones. O Christ our King, be Thou for them and for us the Absolution and the Absolver. O God, hear us and help us and save us. By Thy mercy save us from bitter chastisement and wrath but grant us peace and fullness of life and a good and holy death, for we offer up to Thee praise and thanksgiving unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.

PEACE be with you all. May almighty God grant us all pardon, absolution and remission of sins in both worlds unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.

The Sacrifice of Jesus Christ

Barekhmar! For the living, for the sick and for travelers away from home let us pray to the Lord!
Kyrie eleison!
For seasonable weather and the fruit of the earth, for good rains and for the harvest of the land let us pray to the Lord!
Kyrie eleison!
For the safety of humanity and nature let us pray to the Lord!
Kyrie eleison!
For all in captivity, for those in the grave, for all in affliction let us pray to the Lord!
Kyrie eleison!
Help us, save us, have mercy and compassion upon us and keep us, O God, by thy grace!
Kyrie eleison!
Commemorating our all holy, pure, most glorious, and blessed Lady, the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, together with all the saints let us commend ourselves and one another and our whole life unto Christ our God.
To Thee, O Lord.

ACCOUNT us worthy, O Lord, that we may with pure minds and hearts enter into the Holy of Holies, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

THE MEMORIAL of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ and of His journey among us to save us, His birth, death and resurrection and His ascension to the right hand of the Father.

Let all mortal flesh keep silence
And with fear and trembling stand.
Ponder nothing earthly-minded
For, with blessing in His hand,
Christ Our God to earth descendeth
Our full homage to command.

THUS do we commemorate our father Adam, our mother Eve and Mary the Virgin Mother of God; the prophets, apostles and martyrs; St _______, whose memory we celebrate this day; those who pray with us in this world and those who pray with us in the world to come.
Amen.

Rank on rank the six-winged seraphs,
Cherubim with sleepless eye
Veil their faces to the Presence
As with ceaseless voice they cry:
"Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Lord Most High!"

The Sermon

The Creed

Stomen kalos! Let us all respond and say the Creed!
WE BELIEVE in One God,
the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in One Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only-begotten Son of God, eternally born of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten not made, One in being with the Father, through Whom all things were made. For us men and for our salvation He came down from heaven. By the power of the Holy Spirit He was born of the Virgin Mary and became Man. For our sake He was crucified  under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, died and was buried. And on the third day He arose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures. And He ascended into heaven and was seated at the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. Of His kingdom there shall be no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lordly giver of life, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son She is worshipped and glorified. She spoke through the prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. We confess one baptism for the remission of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead and the life in the World to Come. Amen.

WASH away the filth from my soul and cleanse me by the sprinkling of the water of life, Lord God, that I may be able to enter the Holy of Holies in purity and handle Thy divine Mysteries without blemish; that I may offer the living Sacrifice unto Thee our Lord and God unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.
BELOVED, pray for me that the Lord may accept our oblation.
May the Lord receive our oblation and help us by thy prayers.

HOLY and glorious Trinity, have mercy on me! Holy and glorious Trinity, have mercy on me, a sinner! Holy and glorious Trinity, receive this offering from my weak and sinful hands.

IN THY mercy, O God, grant rest and good remembrance on Thy holy and heavenly altar to Thy Mother, the saints and all the faithful departed. Grant me this hour pardon and remission of sins and help my weakness, for I call on Thee at all times together with Thy Mother and all Thy saints. Remember also... and lastly we pray also as Thou hast commanded us for the peace of Jerusalem.
Amen.

O GOD the Father, Thine unquenchable love did send Thy Son into the world to save the sheep that had gone astray. Reject Thou not, my Lord, this bloodless sacrifice, for we rely not on our own righteousness but on Thy mercy. And may these Mysteries, instituted for our salvation, be not our condemnation but the remission of our sins and the praise and thanksgiving which are Thy due and Thy Son's and Thy Living Holy Spirit's, one in essence with Thee, in both worlds unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.

Stomen kalos! Stand with the fear of God that we may offer the holy Eucharist in peace!
A mercy of peace, a sacrifice of praise.

THOU art the flint rock, the rock of the twelve streams of water for the twelve tribes of Israel. Thou art the hard rock set against the tomb of our Redeemer.
