GREENPORKER'S PLACE

The Greenporker LOVES movies. I was raised on the back row of a movie theatre...I didn't  realize you had to pay to get in until I was about 12 years old! My dad managed two downtown movie theatres and my life was filled with the magic of those images from as early as I can remember. My best friends were  people like Karloff, Wayne, and Connery. My first job was as popcorn boy for the Center and Drake theatres...making $8.00 a week which I hastily spent at the local Woolworth's on the latest G.I. Joe equipment (saving a little to pick up the latest issues of Action Comics and Famous Monsters of course!) to outfit my pals "Joe" to act out the familiar scenarios of THE GREAT ESCAPE or THE GREEN BERETS. These were wonderful, golden times...enjoy these pages of memories and some of my rambling thoughts and movie reviews...hope you have fun and visit often...just sit back and smell the popcorn!
