Tips

 

  1. When using RM (Rush Marine) or RJ (Rush Jet) to evade pits or spikes don’t press “START”.
  2. Don’t get capsules you don’t need. They will not reappear if you die.
  3. If you lose all your lives in Dr. Wily’s stages, always “CONTINUE”.
  4. On the Dr. Wily's stage with all bosses, do not defeat a boss when you are occupying the space above the teleporter. If you do, you will be teleported back to the main room and you will not be able to receive a large energy capsule after defeating the boss.

 

Cheats

 

Invincibility Trick: Hold "right" on the second player controller. Jump down different holes until your energy bar reaches zero. Once the energy bar has reached zero, you can let go of the right button. Now nothing can kill you, except for spikes and more holes. Your invincibility is removed when you get an energy capsule. When invincible, your normal weapon cannot be used. Sound is disabled once you are dead. You can return the sound by entering the robot masters room or by meeting Proto Man (Gemini Man, Hard Man, Magnet Man and Shadow Man stages).

Slow Motion: Hold "up" on the second player controller. This trick is very effective in battles with bosses.

Super Jump: Hold "right" on the second player controller. This will enable you to jump really high.

Get Rush Jet and Marine Early: Defeat both Snake Man and Spark Man. Then get Rush Jet/Marine by pressing "right" by “SP” and rush marine by pushing "right" by “SN” in your weapons box. In order for the rush marine or jet to appear in your weapons box, you must fill the item and use it. These weapons are not kept by the password, so if you chose to copy the password and play this game at a later time, you must use this technique once more to get the Rush Adapters.
 
Proto Man's Counter Solo: Walk into Proto Man's room on any of the three stages you fight him (Hard Man, Magnet Man and Shadow Man) and quickly press "start". While holding "start" Proto Man will play his song then counter it and repeat it.

 

Time Stop: To completely freeze time, press "up" + "a" together on the second player controller

 

Flying Economically: Keep on jumping when riding the Rush Jet, cause the Jet only loses fuel when you are standing on it.

Adaptors


Rush Coil: Begin the game with it. Use it to reach places you can't jump to.

Rush Jet: Receive this item after defeating Shadow Man. This item will get you across pits or spikes that cannot be jumped across.

Rush Marine: Receive this item after defeating Needle Man. This item will enable you to safely travel with ease and control through water (no moon gravity jumping!). It’s kind of useless since the jet will also travel through water just as well. This weapon will not activate unless you are in water.

 

Funnies

 

  1. Why is there an energy capsule on the last stage of Dr. Wily’s fortress? (There is no way to lose energy previous to that).
