Minutes
Motion
made by Eldridge, seconded by Stowell, to approve the minutes of the March 11,
2003, meeting. Motion carried.
Treasurers Report
No
official report.
Old Business
- Changes to Bylaws Motion made by Gilley, seconded by Eldridge, to
approve changes to Article IV, Section I, Paragraph A of the Chamber
Bylaws. Motion Carried. Updated Bylaws attached for inspection.
- Membership Meeting Fieler reported the Chamber is partnering with
Historic Downtown to hold a joint Membership Meeting at the Historical
Society Building April 22, 2003, at 17:30. Both organizations are to divide costs for the event.
- Business Spotlight Eldridge suggested Just Desserts First as
primary candidate and Bretzel Enterprises as auxiliary candidate for next
edition. Board members agree to
consider criterion for project and make recommendations at next meeting.
New Business
- Flower Pots Motion made by Gilley, seconded by Eldridge, to reject
a proposal to sponsor flower pots.
Motion Carried. Questions
regarding current Chamber financial position and integration with Chamber
mission and objectives lead to rejection.
- Postage Motion made by Eldridge, seconded by Gilley, to pay
approximately $150 in postage to mail 400 Navy Bean applications. Motion Carried.
- Joint Community Scholarship Motion made by Eldridge,
seconded by Stowell, to approve $100 contribution to Joint Community
Scholarship Fund as requested by Gilley.
Motion carried. Gilley
noted the contribution will become part of the permanent endowment fund.
- Community Activities Eldridge presented the board
with information regarding upcoming community events. The board is asked to consider
sponsorship for leadership seminar next year.
- Business Communication Solicited e-mail and
quarterly printed newsletter suggested to maintain communication with
business community.
- Health Insurance Wire Design requested information regarding
available Chamber Health Insurance Programs. Gilley reported that coverage is difficult to obtain. Further discussion necessary to
determine necessity of Chamber Health Insurance Program.
- Website Current website is maintained by Tourism. A plan to control and manage the
website is necessary.

was made by Fieler, seconded by Gilley, to adjourn. Motion Carried.
