Treasurer’s Report

The Chamber account currently has $5319.75 plus $50.00 in outstanding deposits.

 

Approval of June Minutes

Motion made by Siekman, seconded by Stowell, to approve June Minutes.  Motion carried.

 

Old Business

 

Website

Fieler continuing work on website.  Log-on information provided to directors.

 

Navy Bean Festival

Navy Bean Festival meeting set for July 25 at 16:00.  Gill to write press release for event.

 

Business Spotlight

Grand Victoria selected for July; Harrington’s for August.  Both selected as recognition for service to the community and to this organization.

 

Post Legislative Luncheon

McGraw and Fieler represented local interests at event.

 

Advertisement

Advertisement for Chamber and Historic Downtown members placed in fair insert for $150.

 

New Business

 

By-Law Changes

Stowell instructed to prepare proposed bylaw changes to remove the quarterly meeting requirement, instead opting for the annual meeting in September and a general meeting in March.  General meetings may be partnered with Historic Downtown activities.

 

Quarterly Meetings

Future meetings will be partnered with Historic Downtown, if possible.  Speakers on tax issues, collection issues, and insurance issues are to be utilized to make the meetings as useful and informative as possible.

 

4-H Booth Space

The Chamber of Commerce will have a booth at the Ohio County 4-H Fair to provide information and promote membership.

 

New Business Induction

McGraw to collect information on what new businesses would appreciate in a gift basket and determining candidates.

 

2004 Chamber Directory

On-demand printing to be used in preparing new directory.  County business listings to be updated and reviewed.  Project under consideration.

 

Promotion

Partnership with City/Utilities/Tourism to be considered to promote county businesses.
