Hi folks! Welcome to Ruby's Place! I'm Ruby! It sure is a pleasure to meet you. How did you find out about my place? I just recently opened, here on Bourbon Street. By any chance, had you ever visited my place on River Street in Savannah? I had to leave there. I had a little uh um, trouble with the sheriff. My entire staff moved with me.

My bartender, Joe, has been with me for 20 years. Sam, our piano player, was recommended to me by Rick. You know, the Rick of Casablanca fame. They even made a movie about him and Sam. I'll bet you didn't know, Rick gave me my first job in show business. I became his star singer.

When the war ended, I moved to Savannah. Shortly after that, Sam showed up at my door with a note from Rick. The note had been dated 5 years prior. Unfortunately, Sam lost track of Rick. He thought he might have been killed. The police were searching for him at the airport. They knew he had a ticket on the last plane out of Casablanca. They didn't know that he had given his ticket to his only true love and her fiancee. He then, just disappeared into the fog. I really had a crush on that guy. He didn't know I was alive, when his true lady-love was around.

You know, it's a strange thing, I never again met anyone I could really love. So, I guess now I am married to Ruby's Place and all of my great staff.

Golly, please forgive me for ranting-on about my dull life- story.
