Midnight and
Grey Star Chishikith
Midnight wasn't sure what to make of it when she, Kaira, Dayra, and Nightra came out of between. This wasn't Pern, and they knew it. A small island below them caught their attention. They could see something that looked kind of like a Weyr down there so they circled to the island and landed.
"Two purples, a green, and a silver Sea dragon!" Someone cried as they landed. "Contact the Caerlord!"
Midnight cried out in fear when she saw the sun rising.
"Below my wings, Midnight!" Chishikith exclaimed.
"Chishikith, you spoke," Midnight sighed as she climbed under her dragon's wings.
"I did," Chishikith sighed. "I did it again."
Midnight marveled as a strapping young man santered over and greeted them, "My name's Casero," He sighed, laughing a bit. "It's certainly strange for guests from another Caer to drop in without warning."
"Caer?" Kaira asked. "We're not from another Caer. We're from Morning Star Weyr."
"Oh, another bunch," the young man sighed. "Other Caer have been getting them, but you're our first."
Midnight shook her head as Casero looked over at her, "You're certainly in the wrong spot, dear. Rip Tide is lower south of here."
"I'm in the wrong spot?" Midnight asked.
"Oh, dear me! I forgot!" Casero exclaimed. "Here on Alskyr, we seperate land dragons and sea dragons. Your silver is certainly a sea dragon so..."
"We belong somewhere else," Midnight sighed.
"Yes, dear, and why are you hiding under her wings?" Casero asked.
"I can't be out in the sun," Midnight sighed.
"Oh, I understand. We have a few about in the Caer that can't be in the sun," Casero sighed. "Come inside and wait with us until nightfall, and then I can escort you to Rip Tide Cove."
Midnight nodded and followed him into Caer, careful not to get hit by the sun as she did.

Chishikith sighed as they glided towards Rip Tide, "So, where is this Cove?"
"Just a bit farther south," Casero replied as his red rumbled. "When we get there, I'll inform G'riu of your condition. He'll understand. He had a young son with the same condition."
"Really?" Midnight asked, knowing it wouldn't have been exactly the same.
"I'm sorry to say they found out too late. He passed on when he was barely four," Casero sighed. "It hurt G'riu's mate so much that she passed the next month. His elder daughter was unable to return to the Cove to comfort him since she had bonded a Gryphon when her brother was merely two and was now stationed at Beckenrow. The Aeriemother refused to let her go. Of course, she's the Aeriemother now."
Midnight nodded as the two dragons landed softly by the Cove entrance, "Midnight, look at that bay!" Chishikith shrieked.
"Yes, love. I see it," Midnight sighed. "We can swim later."
Chishikith crooned as she waddled into the water, "I'll be waiting for you, love."
Midnight strolled into the Cove with Casero at her side. An older man came to greet them, "Ah, G'riu, I have a new Dragoneer for you."
  "A silver, I see," G'riu sighed.
"Actually, she's considered a Grey Star, sir," Midnight sighed.
"Grey Star?" G'riu sighed. "She certainly she a lovely creature, and we would be proud to take her on as one of our dragons."
Midnight grinned, thinking he wouldn't be so eager if he knew the whole truth. Midnight was actually a young vamp. That was why she couldn't go out in the sun, but she wasn't going to risk tell the whole truth. She would be an asset here, and if they knew, they wouldn't accept her.
