Materials:
Worsted weight yarn, small amount, and a size F or G hook. One elastic ponytail holder, either the thin
kind or the thick.
Special Instructions:
Beginning Cluster= Chain 2, Yarn Over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull up; yarn over and pull through first two loops ONLY. Repeat this twice. Yarn Over and pull hook through ALL the loops on your hook.
To make a cluster= Yarn Over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull up; yarn over and pull through first two loops ONLY. Repeat this 3 times. Yarn Over and pull hook through ALL the loops on your hook.
Round 1- Chain 3. In the second chain make a beginning cluster, chain two. Work Cluster, chain 2 seven times. Join with a slip stitch. 8 Clusters and 8 chain 2 spaces.
Round 2- Slip stitch into the next chain 2 space, chain 1, single crochet into the same space. Work (Chain 4, single crochet into next chain 2 space) 7 times. Chain 4, slip stitch into the first single crochet. 8 single crochets and 8 spaces.
Round 3- Chain 1, single crochet in stitch, chain 2. Work all around: single crochet into next space, chain 2, single crochet into next single crochet, chain 2. End by working a single crochet into the last space, chain 2 and slip stitch into the top of first single crochet. 16 single crochets and 16 spaces.
Round 4- Slip stitch into next space, chain 1, single crochet into space, chain 2. Work all around: single crochet into next space, chain 2. End by making a slip stitch into the first single crochet. 16 single crochets and spaces.
Round 5- Repeat Round 4. Your workshould be curving by now.
Round 6- Slip stitch into next space, chain 1, single crochet into same space, chain 1. Work all around: single crochet into next space, chain 1. End by making a slip stitch into the first single crochet. 16 single crochets and 16 chain 1 spaces.
Round 7- Repeat Round 6. Crochet this round just a little bit tighter than the last.
Round 8- Slip stitch into the next chain 1 space (you're skipping a stitch here on purpose.) Hold the ponytail holder against your work, chain 1, make a single crochet AROUND the elastic. Continue working single crochets into each single crochet and each space until you reach the middle of the round, skip either a space or a stitch, continue until the end. Finish with a slip stitch into the first single crochet made. Weave in the ends.
