NOTICE TO VOTERS:

This newsletter is published with the full knowledge of Section 104.271, F.S. [False or malicious charges against, or false statements about, opposing candidates, penalty].  The candidate has evidence from the public record, from court documents and rulings to back every charge made.

In addition to risking third degree Felony charges   and an additional $5000 fine from the Election Commission, the uninformed might think I risk libel and slander lawsuits as well.  I have continued to plead for others to look at the evidence and judge for themselves, for the past 7 years.  My story hasn't changed.

For 7 years, my opponent has supported his group's stranglehold on city authority and obstructed Justice.  Free speech and art or music on the street are irrelevant to a corrupted city government using SAPD officers as the strong arm of a criminal racket.

It's time for a change and this year, when we refuse to be "Enroned" any more with phony ploys to mislead and divide us, We the People will take our governmental machinery back from the Chamber's greedy grasp!  --RGJ
NEWSLETTER, VOL1, ISSUE 1
Roger Jolley Campaign for City Mayor
July, 02

VOTE TWICE to REFORM your GOVT!
Once for City Commission Sept. 10, once for Mayor Nov.5.

Dear citizen of St. Augustine,

I want to thank those of you who voted for me in the last city commission election where I received 38% of the vote.  I felt I owed you another shot at changing our city government into what it represents itself to be, our voice rather than the voice of a small clique of downtown business people.

Right after the last quarterly report, I took some time off from active campaigning to reassess the support I might expect from the community.  I concluded I could win the election and still fail to spark the creation of a democratic government for our city, that the only way to win on that scale is if you and your neighbors get actively involved.

I cannot make this goal on my own.  I want your help and I am praying that your love of country and dislike of dirty cheaters will get you mad enough to get involved and make a difference.

I made a promise on March 13, 1995 singing Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down" and I have not.  Now I'm asking you not to take it anymore, to stand your ground for reform of a city administration that is hostile to the will of it's people.  Parking garages for their business cronies is just the latest outrage.

Inside, you will find the first of a series of articles that I hope will be helpful to you in deciding how you will discharge your civic duty this election cycle.

When government conceals and discourages oversight, only the guilty will benefit.  My opponent, Mayor Mark Alexander, his brother Steve Fmr State's Attorney and his cousin, Judge John Alexander have misused their positions to achieve an end run around federal laws and constitutional guarantees.

Only your voice and your vote can change the status quo.I hope you will vote for me September 10th, and we will all win.  --RGJ
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The campaign for an American Democracy needs soldiers, warriors willing to sacrifice and fight within the political system to remove the powerful business lobby from it's position of power over government.

If you don't care deeply and passionately to preserve your freedom, with a will strong enough to overcome your own reluctance to get involved, then we will all lose something precious.

There is a threat to freedom in America, but it comes not from criminal violence under pretense of political cause, but from inside by bureaucrats, connected business crooks and complicit political leaders.

Your country needs you.  Please call today to see how you can help.  --RGJ
