Update from June 13, 2004

From my cousin JJ Ferrer

"God Won't Ask"

God won't ask the square footage of your house...but He'll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.

God won't ask about the clothes you had in your closet...but He'll ask how many you helped to clothe.

God won't ask what your highest salary was...but He'll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.

God won't ask what your job title was...but He'll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.

God won't ask how many friends you had...but He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friend.

God won't ask in what neighborhood you lived...but He'll ask how you treated your neighbors.

God won't ask about the color of your skin...but He'll ask about the content of your character.

God won't ask why it took you so long to seek Salvation...but He'll lovingly take you to your mansion in heaven, and not to the gates of Hell.

God won't ask how many people you forwarded this to...but He'll ask if you were ashamed to pass it on to your friends

I also wrote another piece myself, inspired by the movie I am working on called "All I Need"

I wrote a song called "Better Things to Come" in June of 2004

Update from April 11th:

my newest song is door to freedom, I already have the track from my buddy lowrider. I plan on recording it as soon as I am able to get into a studio with my friend Alex Dupont. I am pretty excited about it. I am buying a new track every 6 weeks, and plan to have a whole cd done by Christmas.

my mom passed on this prayer to me: if I knew

SUN RISE

Every morning in Africa, When the Sun rises, A deer awakens, Knowing it has to outrun the fastest Lion, >OR, be hunted to death....

Every morning in Africa, When the Sun rises, A Lion awakens, Knowing it has to outrun the slowest deer, OR, be starved to death....

It does not matter whether you are a deer or Lion, When the Sun rises, Better be running at your best.. You only live once. What do you really want to do and achieve in life? Let's think, learn & share. It is a meaningful journey.

THE STORY OF LIFE

Sometimes people come into your life and

You know right away that they were meant to be there,

To serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or

To help you figure out who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be

(possibly your roommate, neighbor, coworker,

long lost friend, lover, or even a complete stranger),

but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that moment

they will affect your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you that may

Seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first,

but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles

you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart.

***Everything happens for a reason.***

Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck.

Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity

all occur to test the limits of your soul.

Without these small tests, whatever they may be,

life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere.

It would be safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life,

And the success and downfalls you experience,

Help to create who you are and who you become.

Even the bad experiences can be learned from.

In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart,

forgive them for they have helped you learn about trust and

the importance of being cautious when you open your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally,

Not only because they love you, but because in a way,

They are teaching you to love and how to

Open your heart and eyes to things.

Make every day count.

Appreciate every moment and take from those moments

everything that you possibly can

For you may never be able to experience it again.

Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen.

Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high.

Hold your head up because you have every right to.

Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself,

For if you don’t believe in yourself,

It will be hard for others to believe in you.

You can make of your life anything you wish,

Create your own life and then go out and

Live it with absolutely no regrets.

Most importantly, if you LOVE someone, tell him or her,

For you never know what tomorrow may have in store.

And learn a lesson life each day that you live.

***That’s the story of life.***

INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIFE

Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.

Follow the three R’s:

Respect for self

Respect for others

 Responsibility for all your actions.

Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.

Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.

Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

Spend some time alone every day.

Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.

Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

Live a good, honorable life.  Then when you get older and think back,

you’ll be able to enjoy it a second time.

A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.

In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation.

Don’t bring up the past.

Share your knowledge.  It’s a  way to achieve immortality.

Be gentle with the earth.

Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.

Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other

Exceeds your need for each other.

Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.
