MACAU; DEC. 2, 2003
Tuesday:

To get to Macau I must take the MTR to Sheung Wan, walk over to the ferry terminal, and take the Turbojet Ferry to Macau. The cost is $130HK going over, and $162.00HK coming back (higher cost in the evening). The ride takes about an hour. I arrive in Macau about 10:50, and catch the AP-1 bus to the airport. W meets me at the bus stop. She has about 4 hours. We take the bus back into town, and she leads me to a restaurant in central Macau. Wow, it is so different here! The buildings have a very European look and feel. The restaurant, Villa Latina, is upstairs in an old building. W orders our food, and I order a "Spanish Iced Coffee", which has a cold sweet cream in it. After a very nice lunch was start walking. W has been here to Macau many times, and she really knows where to go and how to get there. Aside from the sights, the biggest thing about Macau is how relaxed and quiet it feels. I will definitely come back for another longer visit. We end the afternoon at a sidewalk café where we have some small custard pastries and milk tea. W then has to return to the airport and I go back to the ferry terminal. I catch the 6:30 PM ferry, and arrive back in HK about 7:30. I eat dinner at a food court in the office building adjacent to the ferry terminal, and then head back home.
