Lin-Player
This
provides a good user interface for the MP3 song player mpg123,
bundled with Red Hat Linux 6.x release or later, using curses
library.
Features:
Play List Editor: This
provides a good play-list editor (something like the one provided
for Winamp, a mp3 song player for MS-Windows), which enables user
to jump from one song to the other, change the sequence of the
songs and remove songs from the list.
File Browser: This
enables user to add songs, which are at any point in the file
system to the play-list.
Position Seek Bar: This
enables user to start playing the song from any frame, from the
beginning to the ending frame. You can drag the pointer to the
position you want and play the song from that position, as you do
it in Nullsoft winamp.
Volume Control: This
also provides the slider-control for the volume.
Equalizer Setting: This
provides an option for adjusting basic equalizer setting like Bass
and Treble. These are also implemented with a slider control.
New Version: The version
LinPlayer -1.2, which is under testing, provides an option for
controlling the player from any remote system, i.e., song
selection, volume and equalizer settings of the player running on
one machine can be controlled from any remote machine by an user
having permission to do so - a unique feature probably not
provided by any other player till date. This version will be soon
available for free download.
Take
it for free!
Yes this player is available now
for free of cost. You can even get the source code of the
player, with no conditions imposed on you. Its free... and that's
it.
Download the source code available
in two file formats [zip] and [tar.gz] and after deflating them
run the command 'make' in the linplayer directory.
