Swami Satprakashananda
Served as Secretary from Jan. 1931 to Dec. 1935

Known as Harish Maharaj. He was born at Dhaka (Now Bangladesh) in 1888, completed his MA from Calcutta University. He met Swami Vivekananda in 1901 at Dhaka and was later initiated by Swami Brahmanandaji. He had also met Swami Premanandaji and "M". Joined at Dhaka Math in 1924 and received Sannyasa from Swami Shivanandaji at Varanasi in 1927. He was the Jt-Editor of Prabuddha Bharata and became the Secretary of Delhi Ashrama (1931-36). Went to USA for propagating the message of the Vedanta.  Vedanta Society of St. Louis in 1938 was founded the by him.

To his credit books include: Ethics and Religion, Meditation: Its Process, practice and culmination, How is a man reborn, The Universe etc.

He passed away as the head of Vedanta Society of St. Louis in 1979.
