RAMAKRISHNA MISSION, NEW DELHI

GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS OF THE CONSECRATION OF THE TEMPLE OF SRI RAMAKRISHNA

Dear Devotees and Friends,

Perhaps you are aware that the Golden Jubilee (50 years) of the consecration of the Universal Temple of Sri Ramakrishna at the Delhi Centre, falls in November 2007. Sri Ramakrishna was perhaps the greatest Prophet of Harmony in the religious history of the world. Considering the relevance and need of his message in these strife-torn times, we need to observe the occasion of Golden Jubilee in a befitting manner. In fact, this programme was very dear to the heart of Revered Swami Gokulanandaji Maharaj. He had given a great deal of thought to it and had even drawn up the programmes and got them printed in the appeal. Sadly, our dear and revered Maharaj left for his Eternal Abode on 31st March, 2007.

To honour the sentiments of Revered Maharaj, we intend to go ahead with the programmes of the celebration drawn up by him with some minor modifications. We wish to start with Kali Puja (whole night image worship) and end with Durga Saptasati Homa by the monks of the Order on the Jagaddhatri Puja Day.

Since the temple dedication function in 1957, for the first time, after 50 years, we intend to invite Sadhus from all over the country. The celebrations would involve a massive expenditure of around Rs. 30 lakhs. We need your wholehearted cooperation and participation by attending all the functions and donating liberally yourselves as well as by collecting funds from other sources. Let us join hands and put our shoulders together and fulfill the cherished dream and desire of Revered Swami Gokulanandaji Maharaj. We are putting herewith the Appeal issued by Revered Maharaj.

In case your response is overwhelming, which we hope will be, we wish to utilize the surplus for creating infrastructural facilities at the Ashrama.

With our earnest prayers for your spiritual progress,

Yours in the Lord,

Swami Shantatmananda

Secretary
