Golden Jubilee of Temple Dedication

 

A brief Report on Kali Puja held in Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi

 

9^th November 2007 (Friday)

 

As was programmed already, the whole-night Puja of Mother Kali in the Temple of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna took place with all ceremonial sanctity on the night of 9^th November 2007.

 

The Puja began at 8.30 p.m. in the Temple and simultaneously bhajans were rendered by Swami Gunashrayanandaji and Swami Sattwasthanandaji accompanied by Br. Muktachaitanya on Pakhawaj and Br. Parmatmachaitanya on Tabla.   The Temple hall was full at that time and the image of Mother Kali as well as the Holy Trio were very beautifully decorated.   The image of Mother Kali was placed in the middle of the Temple hall on the left side facing south.  

 

During the course of Puja, Revered Secretary Maharaj, Swami Shantatmanandaji offered a copy of the Souvenir which was got printed at Kolkata to Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna as there was no possibility of its release on 11^th since the entire programme of the Golden Jubilee celebrations up to 16^th November were cancelled.  

 

The Puja went on uninterrupted and was concluded at 3.00 a.m. on 10^th November and prasad was distributed to all the devotees assembled there.   All devotees who came for the Puja (about 150 in number) stayed all through the Puja in the Temple till the prasad distribution.

 

10^th November 2007 (Saturday)

 

In the early morning of 10^th November, again a special puja and offering was made to Mother Kali as part of immersion ceremony and after offering arati to Her, the image was carried by devotees and volunteers with all care and placed in a vehicle waiting near the gate of the Temple for taking it to Ghar Mukteshwar for immersion. The vehicle then started for Ghar Mukteshwar at about 9:30 a.m. accompanied by Swami Ganadevanandaji, Swami Gunashrayanandaji, Br. Muktachaitanya, Br. Parmatmachaitanya, Br. Gunatitachaitanya and others amidst chanting by volunteers and devotees.   After immersion of the image of Goddess Kali, the party came along with shantijal to the Ashram at 5.30 p.m.
