August 26, 2001 - December 20, 2001
My experience studying abroad began on August 26, 2001 when I met the other students in the Spain Program at JFK airport in New York. During my time in Spain, I lived with two host families, went on excursions with the group, and took classes. The links below will take you to stories and useful links that are not included in my photo galleries. The links that are labeled as "excursions" are trips that I went on with the rest of the group. Links that are listed as "home stays" will have stories from when I was living with a host family. The link labeled "orientation" will take you to captions and stories from the begining of my stay in Spain. The goal of this site is to give people a better idea of what Spain is like from the point of view of an American college student. If you are planning on studying in Spain this site might give you ideas for things to see while you are there. If the only travel you are planning is with your computer I hope this site will allow you to see Spain.

The links bellow will take you to other sites that can help you if you want to study abroad in Spain. The first link will take you to the official web site for the study abroad program that I participated in. The program is run by a college in the United States. The second link will take you to the web site of the Spainsh Embassy in the United States. This link will help you to get in touch with the appropriate office to get a Spanish visa if you need one.

Many organizations, companies, and colleges offer study abroad programs in Spain. These programs vary in length. Some programs are for high school students while other programs accept college students. You can check your local library or bookstore for a listing of study abroad programs. Also, check with your college international studies office or high school foreign language teacher to see if they know of any programs. Your school might have its own program or participate in a program. It is never too early to start planning to study abroad.
