Cyathea rebeccae (Subg. CYATHEA, sect. Gymnosphaera)

IDENTIFYING FEATURES:
*  shiny, dark green, bipinnate fronds (very similar to the rare C. baileyana, Wig Treefern, which has very fine much-branched lower pinnae forming a wig-like cluster in the crown, a feature not present in C. rebeccae)
*  slender, untidy trunk ... suckers from base ... often forms extensive stands in lowland rainforest along the east coast from central to northern Queensland ... also Malaysia
*  sori without indusium
