Dicksonia youingiae - Bristly Treefern

IDENTIFYING FEATURES:
*  especially large sori
*  crown and croziers covered in maroon-red stiff brittle hairs
*  slender untidy trunk ... suckers produced from base of trunk and from trunk itself
*  fairly rare species ... grows in deep dark wet rainforest gullies in NE New South Wales and SE Queensland ... very similar to D. herbertii of NE Queensland which was originally included under D. youngiae (D. herbertii lacks the suckers from the trunk)
