Desertion: At Pike Co., June 6, 1864; At Louisa, KY, June 16, 1864; August 20, 1864. Returned: May 10, 1865, by Presidential Proclamamtion. Reported Illnesses: March 30 to April 3, 1864, with pneumonia; April 17 to June 4, 1864, not fit for duty; measles Spring, 1863, at Louisa. Discharge: 15 September, 1865.

HEALTH: Pension granted due to disease of heart and kidneys; rheumatism of shoulders, arms and legs; partial loss of eye sight; partial deafness.

DESCRIPTION: Height 5 ft, 8 inches; light complexion; black eyes; light colored hair.

FAMILY DATA: Born: (various dates-1829, 1833, 1834, 1837, March 1823) at Millard, Greasy Creek, (probably 1833/34). Death: November 24, 1907, at Millard, Pike County, Kentucky. Wife: (1) Bethena Hopkins, daughter of Elisha Hopkins, married 7 Feb., 1856. He was 23 and she 17. (2) Hannah Coleman, married in 1873 on Marrowbone Creek by James A. Justice. She died May 1902. Widow: Polly Robinson Adkins, married November 5, 1903, at Millard; Ezekial Prator and Mose Adkins were witnesses children: Living as of May, 1898: Hawkins B: Nov 14, 1872; James Epperson B: March 31, 1874; Eveline B: 1878; Moses B: Feb 12, 1880; Louisa B: March 12, 1884. Parents: Henry and Elizabeth Thacker married in 1826. [Winston Adkins married Hannah Coleman in 1828. Hannah was an older sister of Denny Coleman].

RESIDENCE: Powell's Mills, Pike County, as of December, 1890; Bass, Pike County as of June 1892; Millard, Pike County, as of February 1907.
