I have just learned of General Cleburne,s ideas for freeing the slaves in 1863. Before, I had thought that the South only considered freeing the slaves a few months before the war ended. Apperantly, my preceptions were wrong on this manner. Also relati g to General Cleburne, did I just hear that he was the highest ranking Irishman in both armies at that time? I am looking forward to more education from this site. Also, do the names John Pemperton, Samual Cooper and Roswell Ripley intrest you?
