; br>
; PlusThe incredibly effective and proven TRUTH that will not only show you how to survive ANY hostile encounter or attack youre ever faced with, but will also rocket you into the best physical shape of your life... Faster and easier than you could have ever thought possible! br>
; br>
; Dear Friend, There comes a time in everyone's life when you will have to face a cold, hard reality that takes you utterly by surprise. Out of the blue... out of nowhere... you are suddenly and unexpectedly faced with a fight for your life. No, I'm not talking about cancer or a heart attack or being in a near-fatal car accident or anything like that. No. What I'm talking about is something much worse. I'm talking about being attacked -- brutally, mercilessly, and viciously -- by someone who is intent upon killing you. It happens to people like you every day, Dozens of times every day, to be exact. br>
; br>
; Without warning... and for no apparent reason... some evil-minded thug, gang-banger, rapist, or drug addict in desperate need of $20 for his next "fix" will come up from behind you... brutally knock you to the ground... And Start Beating You Senseless! br>
; If you're like most of the victims this happens to, a.) You won't know what hit you, and b.) You won't know how to fight back. IF you're lucky (and I mean VERY lucky), the scum who attacked you will let you live. Or maybe he will have thought he killed you since you were no longer moving (and it didn't look like you were breathing, either). In thousands of crimes like this that happen each year, the victim does NOT survive. And he usually leaves behind a family that is utterly devastated by the violent death of their child, sibling, spouse, Mommy or "Daddy". Maybe an attack like this has already happened to you -- and you survived. Or maybe it hasn't. br>
; If it hasn't happened to you yet, you're lucky. Or are you? If it hasn't happened yet, that could mean "your turn" is just around the corner... ...just waiting to happen to you. So then, the question is... Will You Be Ready For It When It DOES Happen? Hmmm? If, deep down, you know that the answer to that question is "NO"... then please keep reading. Because I'm about to reveal to you not only the 7 most blatant, bold-faced, and shameless lies that 99% of martial arts instructors will tell you just to get their fancy-pajama-wearin hands on your hard-earned cash, but also the incredibly effective and PROVEN TRUTH that will help you survive ANY hostile encounter youre ever faced with...Even if you're attacked by someone who's three times bigger, badder, and meaner than you! br>
; So lets get started br>
; Bold Faced Lie #1: You need a Black Belt to Defend Yourself Once they get you in the door with their cheesy $99.00 month and free uniform offer, the first thing every instructor dangles in front of you is the almighty Black Belt. The words We are a Black Belt School are painted on the wall. They have black belt clubs with a black belt patch. They have black belt contracts with little special black belt uniforms. They also have cute little 7 year old black belts. As they then proceed to hammer you with tuition fees and hidden costs up to the tune of as much as $10,000.00 (or more) with their standard three year agreement, you are assured that once you get your black belt, all your questions will be answered and all of your fears laid to rest. Well, lets get one thing straight right now Knowing how to protect your self and earning a black belt is NOT the same thing. And if you think kicking and punching the air, breaking a few dried out pine boards, memorizing some fancy-dancy forms, play fighting in foam rubber booties (more on all this nonsense in a bit), or a $10,000 length of black cotton will save your butt in a life or death struggle, than there is a toe tag and a drawer at the local morgue waiting for you. You see, originally a black belt was something that took years upon years to earn. And symbolized not the end goal, but rather a true beginning now that you have a pure understanding of self defense and fighting fundamentals. It wasnt impossible to achieve, just challenging. It signified that accomplishment takes time and dedication. And thats what made studying martial arts so valuable. It taught you patience, understanding, compassion, hard work and of courseHow to fight and defend yourself. Obviously times have changed. Which now bring us to br>
; br>
; Bold Faced Lie #2: Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Kung Fu, and Aikido are real. Sure, about 40 years ago, when the people teaching had to know what they were doing. The problem today is that Martial Arts studios are always pretending to be giving you something they are not. They talk about self defense when in reality all you are getting is either a sport disguised as real self defense, theory without any proven combat history, or a hodge-podge of random techniques picked up from videos and third-rate seminars (See Bold Faced Lie #6 for more on this). Did you know that Karate used to be only for adults? And that it only dealt with real ruthless and harsh methods of fighting and body conditioning? Now it, and practically every other traditional martial art, has become an absolute joke. Completely watered down versions of what they once were. Hitting paper, multi-colored uniforms, 5 different stripes on the belts, birthday parties (hey I guess the clown was booked, lets get the other clown in the funny pajamas to do it). Instructors of these McDojos, as theyre called, are doing themselves, their students, and their community a great disservice by masquerading as teachers of self discipline, self control, and most dangerous of allself defense. And while were on the subject of great disservices Bold Faced Lie #3: The Junior Black Belt Just imagine, youre 40 years old, have a family and kids. You put in a long day at work, you go to work out and some snot-nosed kid starts giving you attitude, makes you bow to him, and do push ups for being late to class. And youre paying money for that nonsense?! As we talked about before, the black belt has been reduced to a marketing technique used by most school owners to sell more memberships. Who doesnt want to brag that their kid is a black belt? The sad truth is it has a severe negative effect on children. In other words, it does more harm than good. Think about itWhy do parents sign their kids up for martial arts in the first place? Simple, a parent wants their child to learn some discipline, burn off some energy, and of course, learn to respect his parents, teachers, elders, etc. But after a remarkable short amount of time, little Johnny has adults bowing to him, calling him sir and treating him in a way an 8 year old is not equipped to handle. He starts to view adults as beneath him and his respect for his elders turns into lack of respect. Instead of having your son look up to you, he does the opposite. In an 8 year olds world, all that matters is what color your belt is. And some where in the back of his mind, he thinks he can kick your ass. And why? Because goofy Grand Master Schwartz has been telling him that ever since he set foot into the Karate studio! RememberAnyplace with Black Belts under the age of 16 is a glorified daycare center. NOT a martial arts school. And now, about that Master Bold Faced Lie #4: The Martial Art Master. This is my favorite. Did you know Master was a made up title by Americans? Its a fact. You didnt start hearing it a lot until the 80s, as it was used as another marketing tactic to differentiate oneself from the overwhelming flood of new martial arts schools popping up on every street corner. Soon Master wasnt good enough. So guess what? They made up GRAND MASTER. But heres the kicker...Master loosely translated means Man who cant fight! I meanCOME ON!! Are these guys really that stupid? Evidently yes, as American Masters are still laughed at to this very day all over the world. Including their martial arts original country of origin! Remember, Master is a self-delegated title for self important, ignorant egomaniacs that are looking to boost their ineffective martial art instruction with some sort of made-up recognition. And heres something else they are completely making up Bold Faced Lie #5: We are a full contact School. Another good one; what the heck does that even mean; Full Contact? Do these guys just show up and beat the crap out of each other every night? Doesnt sound like too much fun if you ask me! Heres a fact: pro athletes NEVER go full contact in training. Why not? Because its too damaging, the human body isnt made to take that kind of punishment on a daily basis. A professionals career wouldnt last a month if they trained like that. The only time professionals go FULL contact is on game day- thats it. Oh, and by the way, Full Contact to most of these guys means mouth guards, foam rubber booties and hand protectors, chest guards, a cup, and lots and lots of rules. (Including no punching to the face!) The person who tells you they are a full contact school is a full contact- knuckle head! Bold Faced Lie #6: Ultimate Fighting (Or Mixed Martial Arts) is self defense This is what we call the Salad bar approach to martial arts. You take some of this, a little of that then PRESTO you have the ultimate salad. This works great at the diner, but the only thing youll get out of it is DEAD in the real world. These Mixed-up martial art instructors try to find the latest and greatest thing, as they are always looking for the next secret to take more money out of your wallet. Over the past 20 odd years, the fad has gone from Tae Kwon Do, to Ninjas, to Kick Boxing, to Muay Thai, to Brazilian Jujutsu, and now to Mixed Martial Arts (whatever that means). And in reality, the people who are successful in mixed martial arts fights (such as the Pride Fighting Championships, and the UFC) have vast experience in one or two particular disciplines. Then they learn to adapt what they do to meet challenges in the ring. World class wrestlers learning to punch, Olympic Judo players learning to kick, boxers learning jiu-jitsu, etc., etc. But again, as challenging and demanding as the above activities and sports are, anything with rules, a time and place, and a referee dont qualify as real personal protection or self defense skills. First of all, in the ring, you know that the guy across from you is not going to stab you, bite you, or have his buddies kick your head in when youre not looking. Second, it is a set event. You have time to prepare and get ready. You have time to scout your opponent and train properly. And if a fighter gets hurt during trainingthey can reschedule the fight! Third, it is on a nice, clean, forgiving mat. And finally, if things get out of hand a fighters corner can always throw in the towel to stop the fight. Now compare all that to what goes on during a real world physical assault and youll instantly see that fighting for sport and fighting for survival are two very different things Like any predator, criminals choose targets of opportunity. Most likely you will be distracted or injured Its 3:00 am, its dark, and the concrete is covered with ice, broken glass, and other assorted debris. You are attacked by more than one individual, all armed, and all looking to take you out not simply tap you out. So if you can find a place where random attacks are accompanied by referees, rules, rings, and mouth guard, let me know. Otherwise, be sure youre training to survive any situation not just a sport fight. Which now brings us to the worst, biggest, boldest, and most blatant lie of them all Bold Faced Lie #7: These techniques will work in real combat This is truly the basic core lie that everything we have already talked about stems from. Yes, while all martial arts where originally based on effective combat methods, today virtually all are mere shadows of what they were originally intended to be. And why did this happen? SimpleThe world has changed. Close-in fighting during war has been replaced by long range weapons, smart bullets, GPS and night vision goggles. And the sad fact is that those qualified individuals who were left over to teach real martial arts, close-combat, and authentic fighting skills became old and/or died. In a nutshell, todays martial arts have been victim to the childrens game of Telephone". As the methods and practices were passed down through the generations, the original teachings were confused, misheard, or condensed until they barely resembled what it started out from. Therefore, completely failing to deliver the impact and effectiveness of the original message. So, what is the answer? If everything has become so watered down should you even bother learning martial arts? Yes, you just have to seek out the truth The Truth So then, now that you know the lies, here are the truths you should look for when choosing a self-defense school. Authenticity-You should expect the self defense your studying to have some legitimate roots and lineage. You should know about the people who came before you, where the techniques and methods came from, and documented cases of real world application. Physical Fitness -Preparing your body to withstand the physical demands of a combat situation is of unsurpassed importance. This process should be done slowly and at the students pace. A person who takes their martial arts seriously takes their health seriously. It shows a degree of self control. As you put time youre your training you will reward yourself by keeping yourself fit and your head clear. Real Martial Arts change you from the outside in. Community-The Japanese call this feeling of community Keiko. Everyone participates in the endeavor. There is no instructor without the student and there is no student without the instructor. Everyone, no matter what their age or rank, has a role and plays a significant part toward the greater good of the group. Personal Attention- Just like any learning environment, personalized instruction within a small class size (no more than 20 people) is of vital importance. Selective- The school should not just let anyone join. There should be a valid and thorough selection process before new members are invited into the school community. But does such a place actually exist in this modern day and age? ActuallyYES, it does. And the best part is that it doesnt require flying to the far corner of the globe, climbing snow-capped mountains, or searching for ancient temples Because its actually closer and more convenient than you ever would have thought possible. But before I tell you where, let me ask you some serious questions: (get out a pen and check all that you answer yes to) Do you truly want to be able to save your loved ones from physical harm? Do you want to learn a self defense method that has documented success? Do you want to discover a method of training that has prepared warriors and soldiers hundreds of years? Do you want to learn a viable skill you can pass down from generation to generation? Do want to be treated with respect? Do you want to discover what Real Self Defense is supposed to be like? If you answered 'Yes' to any or all of those questions, then its time you enrolled in the 10 Lesson Self Defense Course! Q: Will I Really Become Effective in 10 Lessons? A: Well Yes and No. The 10 Lesson Self Defense Training is designed to do a few things. First, it will give you a realistic set of skills and expectations about your abilities and limitations regarding your personal safety. Second, it gives you the battle-tested method to develop a self defense system that works for you. Every person who enrolls in this course develops a personal training method and a means to continue to train on their own. Q: Why was the 10 lesson Self Defense Course developed? A: We did it for two reasons. First, we had a lot of people who wanted to train with us, but didnt live in the area. So we developed a method or REALLY training them so they can take these real-world proven methods of self defense and add them to their personal bag of tricks. Secondly, there are people who dont have the time to put into a complete martial arts training program. They only want to know the nuts and bolts of self defense. And to be honest, thats the easy part. Q: What do you mean, I dont need a Black Belt to defend myself? A: Definitely not! Its not like on the eve of your Black Belt promotion you will magically become a bad ass. Immediately, you will learn enough to protect yourself. The rest is attitude and physical ability. The more frequent and the harder you practice, the better you become. You would be surprised how simple it is to defend yourself. The attitude and the confidence come from your dedication to practice. Q: Who takes the course? A: Anyone with the desire to learn frontline, real world self defense. We have everyone from working mothers to Secret Service Agents. We even have Black Belts in other styles who want to add some reality to their bag of tricks. Q: Can someone take the course more than once? A: Sure. We have several people who sign up repeatedly. The train with us from time to time to supplement there own personal training system. Q: Where did you learn this system? A: I am an Associate Instructor of the International Association of Close Combat Professionals. I trained under the strict guidance and teaching of Damian Ross, Director of Development and Chris Pizzo, President. They learned this method from IACCP Chairman Carl Cestari. This system is based on the work of World War II Marine hand to hand instructor Dermot Pat ONeill. This is the same method used in close quarters combat, espionage and Special Forces operations. The collective experience between Mr. Ross, Mr. Pizzo and Mr. Cestari alone is almost a hundred years of martial arts, military, law enforcement, security and real world experience! Q: World War II, hmmseems a little out dated? A: Dont kid yourself. Back then they didnt have GPS satellite observation, infrared night vision and all the other great, life saving technologies you have today. These brave men were fighting an enemy that was as well as or in most cases better equipped than they were. And remember, time and technology may change, but hand to hand combat has been around since the dawn of man. Do I need experience to begin? A: NO- Even though experienced people seek us out, you dont need any experience. Q: What if I cant make it to 10 Lessons in a row? A: You dont have to. You have four months (16 weeks) to use up your lessons. We keep the classes small (anywhere from 2 to 12 people) this way we can tailor the classes to meet your needs; its real hands on and personalized training. Q: Is this type of training expensive? A: Considering that for private and semi-private lessons we get $150.00 to $300.00 per hour, not really. The tuition for the 10 lesson Self Defense Course is 3 monthly installments of $165.00 per month OR $495 paid in full. Q: How do I start? A: You first need to contact me to set up your first lesson on us. In order to take your first lesson you will need a valid credit card. After your first lesson, it is your option to continue your training. Q: FREE first lesson? A: Yes, if you decide not to join the class.
