Welcome to my pictorial tour of old Route 66 through Illinois! My pictures appear in the order you might encounter them, as you leave Chicago on Jackson Blvd. and travel south all the way to the Chain-of-Rocks bridge. Of course there's a lot more to see than these few representative images. Sadly, much of the old signage is gone, but the Mother Road still retains its charm. Summer is probably the best time to tour, as you can savor the Midwest in all its resplendent golden-cornfield glory!
