Solar Power Roadshow at the Zoo
Bubble Beards kept kids smiling
while solar-powered bubble machines
and other sustainable energy devices
kept crowds cool at the Zoo
Cool? How? Yes, we even had electricity-free
air-conditioning, on a hot, hot day
These kids used the Solar Toaster to warm up their hot dog bun.
The solar fan cap keeps kids cool, too, while seeing solar power at work!

This bubble machine is powered by two photovoltaic panels.
It works even when
a cloud rolls by
She's got the solar fan
on her head
and a solar-powered (photovoltaic) Gameboy
in her hand.
Almost everybody stopped by the 'cooling station'
while listening to Rob's explanation on how trees
keep our planet cool with evaporative cooling
just like these misting jets
For example, a large tree can pump 100 lbs. or more of cooling water into the sky daily.
