WHAT? This page has been created to show the progress made on the restoration and upgrade on a 1968 Dodge Coronet 440 to a 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T.

WHEN? By all official purposes this project has a start date of Feb 9th 2004, when RHM III told his father about his desire to begin this rewarding family project. It was a welcomed surprise!

WHY? Robert Mitchell III (the kid) decided that Robert Mitchell Jr. (The Dad) should have his old car back! We'll maybe not the exact one he bought in 1968...but a recreation of one.

WHAT WE AREN'T DOING HERE:
Matching Numbers and exact recreations of VIN and Fender Tag codes is not what this project is all about. This is our opportunity to make a car exactly like we want it and customize it to suit our tastes.  We are NOT concerned about resale value as this car will never leave the family again. It got away once and that was a regrettable move.

MORE ON HOW
: The goal in purchasing what will call a "blank" Coronet is so we can customize it exactly the way we want it, void of any guilt or remorse that we changed an engine tag exact car. We believe those should be preserved "as is" if they are in fine condition.

WHERE?
A majority of the restoration will take place in Jasper,Texas. Crutial professional work (Paint, upholstery, headliners etc.) outsourced to local business. Funding for the car, parts and associated services provided by RHM III in Seattle,WA.
