   I am sorry to say that HPFocus is Temporarily closed. That means there will be very few updates. This is happening because after over a year, I have been building, updating, promoting and basicly keeping the site going, and i'm starting to get bored of it. So sorry.

The music from the Harry Potter movie has entered the Classic FM hall of fame. At the moment its a 81st place, and Lord of the Rings is in 121st place.

Last Thursday Harry Potter opened in Russian cinemas. It was          released almost 4 mouths after the premier in London. So far the       movie has made £1 million ($1.5m) in about a week. With over 415,000 Potter-mad Russians seen the film.

Last night Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone won a grand total of no Oscars. The movie was nominated for 3 awards, Best Art Direction, Best Original Score and Best Costume. Lord of the Rings didn't win any main awards, although it did win 4 of its 11 nominations.

The Harry Potter & Lord of the Rings crews prepare for the Oscars this weekend. Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone is nominated in 7 categories, and Lord of the Rings is in 12 categories. Rings is surposed to be the main winner tonight, a make a clean sweep. For a full list of who'se in what categories click here.

Filming has started at Alnwick Castle one of the places where Hogwarts is being filmed. Also Warner Brothers has been scouring the country for 14 Ford Anglia cars, which will be used in a spectacular crash scene.

"We're Not Dependent Harry Potter" says Bloomsbury Boss

Bloomsbury boss, Nigel Newton, says the company is not dependent on Harry Potter although it is a big part of the company's profits, after the company's profits rocket up by £51 million. He says they have other big sellers. One of them Anthony Bourdain's book Kitchen Confidential.

5th Book Delayed Again

After an already long wait, it looks like Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix, will end up being release in autumn 2002. The company's boss, Nigel Newton, comfirmed it will be released this year. Also Bloomsbury will probably want avoid the release of the 2nd movie, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, in November.

Potter Publishers Profits up to 62%

Bloomsbury, JK Rowling's publishers, say their profits have risen by 20.6%. Their profits are now 62%. So that means their now make £61.4 million per year, instead of £9.35 million last year. Basicly alot of money.

Potter Props Make Big Money

At the auction reported here on HPFocus (below). A massive 19th globe was sold for £17,750, when predicted to sell for around £12,000. The globe was used in the library scenes, when Harry, Ron and Hermione are searching for Nicholas Flamel. A crystal ball sold for £1,320, and a pair of Gringotts scales sold for £108.

Italian Mouse Ready to Challenge Harry

An Italian Mouse named Geronimo Stilton is challenging Harry over in Italy. Almost 1.6 million Geronimo books have been sold over there, 1.1 million less then Harry Potter. The mouse has had 34 books published, written by an anonymous author.

JK Rowling's name is to be added to the next edition of Encyclopaedia Britannica, one of the world's most famous books. The 234 year old reference book is well known for having everything you could think of in and everything you counld'nt. She will have her name with people like Albert Einstein and George Bush.

50 children extras have been barred from talking about what they do, see, or hear, so not to tell anyone about the film they are in, in any way. The children working on Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets were forced to sign secrecy pacts. They will be paid £35 aday for holding their silence, when they start filming at Alnwick Castle on Monday. Warner Bros. say everyone making the film had to sign a pact, but childrens chartities say it bad for kids not to talk to their friends and family's.
