I will tell you how it started. On the Steps official website I noticed there was a competition to be an extra in their next video "You'll Be Sorry"- and all you had to do was send your picture off. So I did-and I couldn't believe it when I got an e-mail saying I was in!! So on the Friday I set off to London to the studios and luckily found some other people who were also going and followed them. Then we had to wait in a cafe and I saw one of my internet friends Pete-Steps. I made friends with a guy called Dan and we hung out for the whole day. Then we went into the studios about 2.30 or so. We all had to wait in a massive white room and we were sorted in different groups according to height. The night before I had spent hours making a T-Shirt which had the name of the song on and a picture of Steps on the back. But they would not let me wear it because of the red on it-grrrr. So instead I just wore a boring T-Shirt. We waited ages-and I made a few friends who i still keep in contact with -Kimbo, Pascal, Vikki and Dan (bizzare how we are 3 girls and 2 boys). Eventually it was time to go in and the first group went in-but then had to come back again-rumour has it Faye was not ready-lol. Then later we DID actually go in. I was in a small group so I managed to stand at the front. Then Steps came in one-by-one. Claire spoke to our side a little bit-saying how she didn't like her hair. Then I showed her my t-shirt that I made as I was wearing it underneath-she did not look very impressed-LOL-and just said "very clever". Then we started to film and we just had to dance as if we were in a night club-then we had to do it again cos one of the Steppers mucked up-lol. Then that was a wrap!! We all started leaving the room-and Faye was shaking people's hands and saying thankyou-when it got to my turn i decided to actually say something and I mentioned how my uncle lives in Dunstable (where she is from) and how he once got her a gig when she was in another band years ago. Don't think she remembered though-never mind. So then we were all given signed postacards and we left. Sadly none of us appear in the video-apparently the graphics could not take so many of us moving around!! So that was slightly dissapointing-a bit of a waste of a day for many people-but I wasn't too bothered myself-at least I spoke to Faye! |
