More Fun with Elvis

On July 5th, 1954, Elvis Presley recorded his first single, a cover of Arthur Cruddup's That's All Right. This recording is currently being hyped as The Birth of Rock 'N Roll, although I think Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Richard, Bill Haley, and a bunch of other cats who had been doing it for years might disagree. Still, it's a huge landmark in the history of Rock 'N Roll, by any standard... and what better way to celebrate it than by playing video games?!?! There is none, I tells you! None!! Bu-wah-hah-hah-ha!!! Foolish humans!

So's, anyhoo... here's a couple of nifty new Elvis Presleys you can download to play in Freedom Force.

First up, I got another Elvis skin for the Clint mesh. It's Elvis in a leather jumpsuit, based on the one he wore in his famous '68 Comeback special. This has actually been up on my Yahoo group for a while, but I don't think I ever got around to announcing it.

Next, I've hex-edited the Pulp Versatile mesh to make Elvis in one of his 1970's Vegas-Era White Jumpsuits. It comes complete with ridiculous protruding sideburns. Enjoy.

Oh, and my original 1950's Rockabilly Elvis skin for the Clint mesh is still available to download as well, for those of you silly enough to not get it yet (foolish, foolish humans).

These are all available from my second yahoo group.

Update: February 7, 2004
Elvis Presley

One new skin, a 1950's Rockabilly style Elvis Presley for Irrational's 'Clint' mesh. The Clint mesh is the one used for the character 'Bullet' when he's out of costume, and can be found in the Freedom Force 'art.ff' folder. There are more details about this mesh in the text file that comes with my skin if you need them.

This skin is available from my second yahoo group.

Update: January 16, 2004
New Superman Stuff

I've got a few variations of versatile meshes, as well as updated versions of my Superman Family skins.

First up is PV_Kent_Atomic, a variation of the Pulp Versatile Suit mesh with a hat, glasses, and a standard skin of Clark Kent.

Then I've got FV_Supergirl_Atomic, a variation of the Female Versatile mesh with a lengthened skirt, shortened cape, and a standard skin of the silver age Supergirl.

The last mesh is PV_Luthor_Atomic, a variation of the Pulp Versatile mesh that comes with two skins of Lex Luthor. This mesh has a science fiction style gun, and a glowing "kryptonite" wand.

Finally, I've updated all of my Superman skins to larger, higher-resolution sizes. I've also made some tweaks and changes to some of these skins, the most signifigant being Brainiac who now has a new face and belt. All of my Superman skins are available from my first yahoo group.

Update: January 10, 2004
Play it Again, Sam

I've made three versions of Humprey Bogart for the Pulp Versatile mesh. Preview them in my Pop Culture section. There's one version in a tuxedo, one in a trenchcoat and hat, and one in a sea captain's hat. These are all up in my second yahoo group. For a limited time, they will also be available from my first yahoo group, to make it easier for everyone who wants one to get a copy.

Update: December 13, 2003
Holy Bat-Skin Update, Atomic Robot-Man!

I've got oodles of new skins, variant skins and a couple of mildly hexed meshes online now for your pleasure. They are mostly Batman related, so a trip to my Batman Section should be your first destination to preview them.

These include some hexed pulp_versatile meshes of The Joker and Professor Hugo Strange, as well as Dr. No-Face (Who? Yeah, he's a real Batman villain, if a bit on the obscure side).

I've also got a bunch of new skins, the crown jewel of the bunch being Polka-Dot-Man, perhaps the goofiest Batman villain ever! Then I've got over a dozen variations of Batman in all the colors of the gay rainbow. These include Batman in his original costume from Detective Comics #27, The Ghost of Batman, North Pole Camouflage Batman, The Flying Batman, The Negative Batman, and more. Every one of these variant costumes comes from an actual Batman comic, they aren't things I am just making up (not that there would be anything wrong with that.)

Finally, check out my Mystery Skins Section to see another pulp hex for a Police Detective, featuring a skin of comic strip detective Dick Tracy.

All these skins and meshes are available in my first yahoo group, here. The meshes are also available on my second yahoo group, here.

In order to fit all these files onto my first yahoo group, I had to move some of my other skins over to my second one. Now my first group contains Hexed Pulp Meshes, Batman Skins, Superman Skins, and skins of other DC Comics characters. My second group contains Hexed Pulp Meshes, and all of my other skins, like of TV and movie characters and original creations.

Goofy Batman Villains, Hexed Pulp Mesh, New Yahoo Group

Now me have two Yahoo Groups! Other group is here! It has leftover stuff me no have room for on first group! Haw! Haw! Haw! Haw! New stuff will still go on first group, here! Not on second group! Yagooooo!

I've got several new skins from Batman's Rogues Gallery today, and they're some of the losing-est Batman villains of them all! Firefly: fighting with the power of happy rainbows!! How will Batman Survive? Killer Moth: In the wild, the one creature that strikes fear into the heart of a bat is the moth! The fearsome moth! The frightening moth! The shiny, candy-colored moth! How will Batman surive?

I've also dabbled with hexing and made a version of Texas Jack's pulp_versatile mesh that I have dubbed PV_Swashbuckler. It has a standard "generic" swashbuckler skin, and also comes with a bonus skin of the Batman villain Cavalier. If Errol Flynn was a Batman villain, and he was really, really lame, then he would be the Cavalier! How will Batman survive?

Yagooooooo!!!

Pirates! New Version of Fearsome Force! Removed Skins!

I've got a bevy of new pirate skins available for Mike B7's and Texas Jack's PV_Pirate mesh. The mesh is available from FX Force in the Hexed Meshes section, with a standard skin by me! Check out my Pirates section to see this and my other pirate skins available from my Yahoo Group.

Robert over at FFStuff has new versions of Fearsome Force (my evil, commie version of Freedom Force) that he has skinned, available at FFStuff. These include new versions of the characters I had done, as well as some new characters that I never skinned myself. Check them out.

I've had to remove a few of my older skins to make room for my newer ones. If anyone wants one of the skins I've removed, please let me know and I'll try to get it to you.

Update: September 12, 2003
Catwoman

I've created a skin of Catwoman for Bobby 69's batgirl_classic69 mesh. It works out pretty well for Catwoman, except for the spiked fins on the arms, and the bat shaped cape. It'll do until someone makes a dedicated Catwoman mesh, though.

Update: September 8, 2003
Two Versions of Man-Bat

I've added two versions of Man-Bat for Lord Ehmsidy's Flyer mesh. One is brown, one is black. The mesh is available for download at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Lordehmsidymeshes2/

It's not a perfect mesh for Man-Bat, as it doesn't have big ears, and it's wings are not bat-shaped, but it's the closest mesh available at the moment, hopefully someone will make an actual Man- Bat mesh someday.

Update: September 3, 2003
Effective Immediately, No Skins of Marvel Comics Characters Will be Available to Preview at This Site, or Download from my Yahoo Group.

After reading the posts on the various forums about Marvel's overzealousness regarding skins of their characters, and now having recieved this email (link follows) from Ken Levine, I've decided to remove all Marvel Comics skins from my Yahoo group. I only have a couple of Marvel skins anyway, and it's not worth taking a chance at having the whole group shut down just to host them. I have no plans at the present to remove any DC Comics skins, not unless DC themselves start complaining about it, not just Marvel complaining on DC's "behalf."

This sucks. I'm not even a very big Marvel fan, but alot of people are, and it's just not fair to them to take all their skins away. We're not making any money off this, or taking any money away from them. If anything, these skins are a free form of promotion for them and probably get people who would otherwise be unfamiliar with Marvel Comics introduced to their characters and into the comic book shops to read about them. Pissing off die-hard fans like us is so stupid, we're the only thing keeping the comic book industry alive these days... sure they make all their money from toys and movies and stuff, but without people actually reading the comics that all their toys and movies are based on, how long do you think that will last? Ah, man, I'm just ranting now.... sorry, I'm just very unhappy right now.

Anyways, here's the text of the email I just recieved...

This is Atomic Robot again, hopefully I'll be able to keep the rest of my skins available for anyone who wants them...

Aloha, Atomic Robot

Two Skins

I've got two new skins for the male_heavy mesh. First is the Golden Age green Lantern's mortal enemy Solomon Grundy. Check him out in my Heroes and Villains section.

Next is Batman villain Mark Desmond AKA The Blockbuster. I actually posted this one a few days ago but I never wrote an update for it. Preview this skin in my Batman section.

My skins are available to download from my Yahoo! Group.

Update: July 25, 2003
New Skins, and Some Variations on a Few Old Ones, Part 2

I've got two new skins for you today. First up is The Flash's Freeze Gun wielding nemesis Captain Cold. Check him out in my Heroes and Villains section.

Next, I've got a skin no one was pining away for: The Composite Superman. You can read about that one in my Superman section.

I've also got another batch of variations on my old skins for different meshes. I've got two new versions of J'onn J'onnz the Manhunter from Mars and one new version of The Flash. You can read about those in my Justice League section. Finally, I've got a new version of Superman which you can read about here.

As always, all of my skins are available to download from my Yahoo! Group.

New Skins, and Some Variations on a Few Old Ones

I've got some new skins for you today. First up are two versions of Vincent Price as Egghead. Check them out in my Batman TV Show section.

Next I've got two skins for Beardedinlair's Frankenstein mesh. First there is Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's Monster. Second I've got a skin of Fred Gwynne as Herman Munster from the TV show The Munsters. The Herman Munster skin really didn't turn out that great, though. It's kind of like my Burt Ward as Robin skin, in that it's a decent looking skin, but it doesn't really look that much like the actor who played the character.

I've also got some variations on my old skins for some different models. There are two versions of Batman now available for Beardedinlair's awbatman mesh, one from the comics, one from the TV show. I've got a new version of the Green Arrow, this time for The Beyonder's male_archer_round mesh. I've adapted my Wonder Woman skin for Beardedinlair's wonder woman mesh, and I've also made a version of Wonder Woman with a red, white, and blue cape for Mienk's female_cape mesh. All my skins are available to download from my Yahoo! Group.

Update: May 16, 2003
New Skin: The Comic Book Version of The Penguin

A new skin of the comic book style Penguin has been added to my Batman Familysection and is available to download from my Yahoo! Group.

Update: May 14, 2003
New Skin: Burgess Meredith as The Penguin

Burgess Meredith as the Penguin has been added to my Batman 1966 section and is available to download from my Yahoo! Group.

Update: May 13, 2003
Joker, Riddler, and Catwoman TV Skins

My new crop of Batman 1966 skins are up on my Yahoo! Group. They are Cesar Romero as the Joker, Julie Newmar as Catwoman, and Frank Gorshin as the Riddler. I'm planning my next set of skins for this series right now. I've got a skin of Burgess Meredith as The Penguin that is about 90% complete, and I think I might make a comic book version of The Penguin, too. After that I'm thinking about doing Commisioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara, and maybe Egghead (because Vincent Price is the coolest cat), Mr.Freeze, and Alfred as well. Beyond that, I don't know, we'll just have to wait and see.

Update: May 9, 2003
All Skins Online, New Batman TV Skins in the Works

I finished uploading all of my skins to my Yahoo! Group last month, but I forgot to update this page with the info, sorry about that. I'm currently putting the finishing touches on skins for The Joker, The Riddler, and Catwoman from the TV show. They should be up pretty soon, and I put some previews up in my Batman 1966 section. The Joker is a very nice likeness of Cesar Romero, I think. Here's a peek at him, although at a higher resolution than you will probably want to use in the game:

Batman and the Joker

Fearsome Force Online, More Soon to Come

I've added all of the skins of Fearsome Force (the all commie version of Freedom Force) from my Heroes & Villians section to my Yahoo! Group today. I've also finished packaging up all of my remaining skins in zip files today, and hope to have them all up in the next day or two.

Update: March 20, 2003
Justice League of America

I've added all of the skins from my Justice League section to my Yahoo! Group today.

Update: March 17, 2003
Superman Family and New Sections

I've added all of the skins from my Superman Family section to my Yahoo! Group today.

I've also added two new sections for my skins today, Happy Days, for my Happy Days skins, and Batman 1966 for my Batman TV skins. The Batman TV section currently only has three skins, but I'm planning on making more, so I decided to give them their own page. The Happy Days sections has my Happy Days skins, plus some neat behind-the-scenes info on the show.

Update: March 13, 2003
Bat-Mania!

A big Batman update today! I added all the skins from my Batman Family section to my Yahoo! Group. I also have two brand new skins today: Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin. Both Adam and Burt are available in oversized versions as well, along with my skin of Two-Face from the comics.

Update: February 19, 2003
All "Pop Culture" Skins now Online

I've added the rest of the skins from the Pop Culture section to my Yahoo! Group: Atomic Robot's Freedom Force Skins. I also went ahead and pulled off most of the oversized skins from that group since they were eating up so much space. I kept a few of my favorites online, though, and I can provide others by request if any one wants them.

My next update will be for my Batman Family skins, but I don't have any particular date set when they will be up.

Update: January 29, 2003
Atomic Robot's Freedom Force Skins now Online

I've started a Yahoo Group to host my skins. It's called Atomic Robot's Freedom Force Skins, and it's address is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/atomicrobotskins/. So far I've added the skins from page one of the Pop Culture section of these pages. Those skins are:

Larry Wilcox as Officer Jon Baker
Erik Estrada as Officer Frank 'Ponch' Poncherello
Barry Williams as Greg Brady
Maureen McCormick as Marcia Brady
Yvonne Craig as Batgirl
Ron Howard as Richie Cunningham
Henry Winkler as The Fonz
Anson Williams as Potsie
Donny Most as Ralph the Mouth

You can click on the Pop Culture links for pictures and information about these skins, and you can go over to the Yahoo Group to download them. The skins are currently available in two versions, a standard sized version (256x256), and an oversized version (512x512) for higher resolution. The High Resolution versions look better in the Character Tool, but they can slow down the game. I'm thinking about removing the High Res versions, because they take up a lot of space. if anyone has an opinion on this, please let me know.

This is an early version of this webpage, I'm still working out a few bugs and what not before it's done. I will not be making skins available to download from this page, because this is just a free webpage with limited bandwidth. Instead, I'll be setting up a seperate site (possibly a Yahoo group, but I'm not sure yet) where I will direct you to download the skins. You can use this site to preview my skins before you download them, and to see what new things I'm working on, and stuff like that. All the links should be working, and most of the pictures should be up as well, so feel free to take an early look around.

Most of these skins are still available from freedomforcecenter.com, but I have since updated most of them with minor tweaks and improvements. I also have several skins that have not been released anywhere. They are:

Yvonne Craig as Batgirl
Donny Most as Ralph the Mouth
Batman
"New Look" Batman
Robin
Batgirl
Two-Face (this is not the same Two-Face skin I had made earlier, it's completely new)
Bruce Wayne
Superman
Clark Kent
Bizarro No. 1
A Bizarro Superman
Aquaman
The Atom
The Flash
Green Lantern
Hawkman
The Manhunter from Mars
Snapper Carr
Wonder Woman
Green Arrow
...and most of the skins in the "Mystery Skins" section.
