RESCUE ANGELS
by John Perkins
There once was a Sheltie who didn't know what it was to be loved
He was bitten and pushed by the other dogs and shoved
He was bitten so bad one day he was left to die
The Angels in heaven looked down and they did cry
All his life in a crate he did stay
The Angels knew a dog like this should be happy and play
How much more can this dog endure
Happier he would be at the Rainbow bridge for sure
Hey, said one, I know of an angel touched by heaven
She is from rescue and her name is Robin
We will get a message of this dog to her
This little dog must survive that is for sure
Her heart was touched by the story and away she flew
Robin thought of Ann in Tennessee Rescue
With tears in their eyes they looked at the dog
His tail didn't wag, his mind in a fog
His leg and insides hurt but he couldn't say
The rescue Angels took him to the TED that very day
It looks very bad and I don't have much hope the TED would say
Angels from heaven looked down and did pray
As the word of this little dogs plight did spread
Words of prayer and love on the internet were read
How do we pay for his surgery was a big worry
But with love came money in a big hurry
Now with the surgery done and all through
Little Sheltie dog now it's all up to you
The next day the little dog did stand but also sway
and he found that his tail could move this and that away
With his wounds now on the mend
To what human should the dog we send
The Angels in heaven knew Miss Carolyn's heart
So it was a match made in heaven from the very start
Now to his new home a trip was in the plan
It will be a voyage of love in a car and in a van
All the love during the trip made this dog get stronger
But lasting love is what this dog did hunger
Now in his new home snuggled in his chair
Zach is our new hero of the year
To all you humans that got involved
The love missing in a dogs life has been solved
To all you humans and Angels above
The Wild Bunch sends all their love

Zach, happy rest of your life good buddy, hope we don't have any more stories like yours but we know more dogs out there need help like you did and we hope the Angels in heaven shine on them like they they did to you.  Robbie and Misty, thank you fur helping Zach fit into yer den.  To everybuddy involved franks an we nose yer heart feels good cause you was involved.
