Klaus Kinski Brief Bio (Early) |
||||||||||
Born Nikolus Gunther Nakszynski in Sopot, Poland, October 18, 1926 (Libra oooh!). He was the youngest of four children born into poverty. At a young age he stole to help his family, keeping him in constant trouble with the law. When war broke out in Europe and Poland was invaded by the Nazis, Kinski was captured and forces to fight in the German army. Hating his role, it is rumoured that Kinski used to flag British airplanes begging for them to shoot him. He was eventually captured after going AWOL due to the death of a close comrade. The British kept him in a POW camp where he would perform for the other prisoners. Upon the end of the war Kinski returned home to search for his family. Unfortuantely they were all gone, the death of his mother stricking him the most; they were very close. Klaus began traveling with a drama troup where his true talents and passion began to show. These entourages became tenative because of Kinski’s disregard for authority. He many times found himself jobless and hungry. The late forties however marked Klaus’ first movement to film and the start of the career of the man I see as the greatest actor of our time. |
