Born April 14th 1957 in Buckhead, Georgia, Byron, blue-eyed 6 feet tall and absolutely gorgeous worked as a flight attendant (I obviously took the wrong Airline) before Warner Brothers signed him to play Coy duke in "The Dukes of Hazzard".
He had won an athletic scholarship to East Tennessee State, played football, was a star Running Back,also took Voice and Music classes, his dream being an acting or musical career. He later did some modeling and TV Ads one being a Coke Commercial.
In 1984 he played the part of a country singer in the movie "The Agitators".
It's a hard road to 'replace' main characters in long running series and rarely 'long term' successful but both Byron and Chris Mayer as 'cousins Coy and Vance Duke' won more than enough Fans during their stint on the show that it is very hard to understand why they didn't go on to bigger things after they were fazed out of 'Dukes' also why they couldn't have been used in more episodes returning as other 'semi regulars' did. I could think of MANY shows that could do with such a goodlooking guy in them and with those Baby Blues to drown in and that Cherry Charisma I can only wonder "Hollywood.. Where was your head?? & " What a WASTE of a dreamboat!!!
